Those of us with an interest in games research donβt realize how lucky we have it with game magazine scans. The Source is an incredibly historically important magazine with spotty at best digital preservation. And there are MANY more culturally important periodicals in even worse shape.
if you want to know how important it is for you to do this math: the fees patreon took from me in 2025 add up to roughly 3 months of income. that's 3 months of income i would have paid taxes on if i didn't deduct the fees from the 1099. 3 months of income i never actually had!
