I know that we all like goofin' on the 1967 Spider-Man cartoon because everything is off-model and the animation is so stilted, but look at this gorgeous art from "The Origin of Spider-Man," the first episode where Ralph Bakshi took over as director:

Stern intended to revert Magneto to a villain again but Marvel decided against it and DeFalco stepped in to write the final issue.
Magneto is tried by an international tribunal for sinking the Russian sub in UXM 150. He uses mind control circuitry in his helmet on one judge to rig the decision in his favor, then destroys it so as never to be tempted again, & wonders if the verdict has made human-mutant relations worse.

To be fair to JLU Hamilton. Superman did attempt world domination on Darkseid's behalf. The fact that he was mind-controlled doesn't make it less consequential from his pov.

I do not think Paul conceptualized God as a Trinity, just that the eventual development of the analogy lines up with Paul's emphasis on bringing diverse groups and thought processes under a unifying principle (the redemption of all Creation through God's work in Christ).

My own personal take is that any attempt to articulate the ineffable will necessarily fall short but most express a truth of some kind.
The Trinity strikes me for its emphasis on God as Community, which is consistent with Pauline Christianity as a diversity, equity & inclusion project.
Beautiful
Paul's biblical corpus is built around the Christian life's incompatibility with slavery to sin (and by extension, the incompatibility of the institution with every human's inherent God-given dignity).
And to be clear, Dan is saying that what he sees as biblical consistency endorsing slavery is abhorrent and rightfully rejected on moral (but not purely textual) grounds.
His argument is valid but I ultimately land with David Bentley Hart on Paul as anti-slavery.

My only contention with the video essay is Dan's argument that endorsement of slavery is a consistent biblical value.
David Bentley Hart makes a compelling case for Paul's opposition to slavery in his footnotes for 1 Cor 7:17-24.
This is a fascinating short piece on "lego biblicality" (great metaphor on Dan's part) and the rapture.

I'm not sure I buy into Dan's certainty that the Trinity would never have emerged or survived without Roman support, but it certainly seems like it would have been a minority position because of the difficulties involved.
It is interesting. I assume it was largely driven by wanting to keep Batman's history mostly intact. Byrne didnt write Superman that differently after the time jump at any rate.
This is genuinely a good fake out, but also an example of Mad Scientist Lex I’ll be missing for a while.
