You'd think they'd at least give freaking Vecna some Legendary Actions, and maybe a few more high level spells, but apparently not.
The boss battle against Vecna as written is way too easy. So I increased the number of named liches by 200%.
Throwing in Acererak and Szass Tam made it more of a nail-biter for my players, so they felt properly challenged.
Oh yeah, finished DMing my second Vecna: Eve of Ruin campaign the other day.
Once more, I got past the book's many weaknesses as written by having an awesome group and adjusting the underwhelming encounters to actually be challenging. So I still gave my players a good campaign.
