Yes, I think so - thyroid hormones have such powerful effect on brain function including on synaptic plasticity & emotion/cognition! It makes sense that demand for T4 increases when estrogen is high, particularly during pregnancy. But who knows... maybe there are more to Ttr function than we know!

So we've done a lot to develop Ttr story - from hormone treatments (w/ bulk qRT-PCR not scRNA-seq) to Ttr overexpression exp. It was done by multiple people in the lab, w/ reproducibility across cohorts, gene expression methods & experimenters. I was stunned by Ttr in peripartum dataset - amazing! 😊
