Last week, our colleague Dr. Santiago López Rodríguez co-organized and presented at the international workshop "Victims and Bystanders: the Sephardi Jews and Spain during the Holocaust" at the University of Potsdam. His talk examined Franco, Salazar, and historiographical debates on neutrality.

Our researcher Tadek Markiewicz recently took part in the British International Studies Association’s 50th Anniversary Conference in Belfast. He presented on “Global Vulnerabilities and Challenges to Orders” and convened two panels: “The Many Faces of Security” and “Cultures of Representation.”

In recent years, several PhD dissertations have explored the Holocaust and its aftermath in Sweden. One standout: "Afterlives" by Victoria Van Orden Martínez (Linköping Univ, 2023).

The framework identifies three types:
1️⃣ elite everyday reconciliation
2️⃣ grassroots everyday reconciliation
3️⃣ vertical everyday reconciliation

Last Thursday, Kate Lonergan participated in the panel on women’s rights in South Asia at Lund University, which we previously announced. The discussion explored challenges and opportunities across the region, with Kate sharing insights from her research on everyday reconciliation in Sri Lanka.
