When Prima debuted in the Revenge of the Fallen tie-in comics, he was visually based on the Protoform Optimus Prime toy, thus more-or-less making that toy Primas first ever figure.

In the New Legends manga, the 13 Primes are presented as not being the original Cybertronians, but rather a group of elected leaders of whom wind up succumbing to corruption, attempting to take over Cybertron.

The previous leader of Cybertron in the Cybertron games was named "Zeta Prime" in game, but "Sentinel Prime" in things such as comics and the novelization. Hasbro rectified this by stating his full name was "Sentinel Zeta Prime."

In earlier drafts of the 1986 film, it was Smokescreen who died in Wheeljacks place, a wide shot even has Wheeljacks corpse incorrectly colored as Smokescreen.

The first draft of the 1986 film featured Wheeljack as a prominent supporting role, leading a band of Autobots on a Decepticon occupied Earth. Unfortunately, this draft also had Wheeljack be an avid misogynist towards Arcee.

Spittor and Claw-Jaw were released and redecoed in Europe-exclusive sets alongside VHS tapes of Beast Wars episodes. These 2 redecoes were marketed as Transmetals, ironically, Spittor would receive an actual Transmetal figure later on.

The trio name "Rainmaker" was not intended to be a name at first. When they are dubbed "rain makers" in the cartoon, it was as an adjective, not a noun. The team name was canonized in 2008 after repeated fan usage.

The characters featured in the Botcon 2013 Timelines "Rainmaker" set are Bitstream, Hotlink and Sunstorm, none of whom are actually Rainmakers. The name was confirmed to be an error.
