Side note: On one of my other systems, bsky is asking for age verification, so if I just suddenly stop posting forever, just know it's because I'm not giving my ID information to a team that's provably failed with safety in the past.
Every single time I see political polling that looks like: 50% against, 11% undecided, 39% for [something terrible], I'm reminded of posts by @mekka.mekka-tech.com about where that mid-high 30's comes from. (Hint: It's fucking racism)
(we're ignoring the part where the complaints about bike lanes causing traffic are always empirically and provably wrong)
Huh. You know, they passed an ordinance here that the sound of children playing could NOT be grounds for a noise complaint, and... *points to all the bike lanes*
You might be onto a correlation here...
Tasty lunch and good company can brighten up even an already sunny day.
Standing in the rain, shouting "You're the only one for me!" to a really good bowl of hand-pulled noodles... yeah, I've been there.
I missed it last season, but this year I swear I'm going to ride over and visit it while it's operational.
Today feels like a good day to go outside and listen to John Cage's 4:33 on repeat.
I just threw together a website visualizing this ICE contract data! You can browse through the companies and their contracts, and filter them by state micahflee.github.io/ice-contracts/
I didn't make the rules.
Don't forget your ibuprofen.
ICE is still here in MN, and our neighbors are still in hiding. Rent is due TODAY, and Iโm scrambling to raise funds to keep immigrant families in need out of eviction court. Can you help?

In my quest to improve as a mindful person, I'm continually rethinking what I post or reply on here (sometimes still with foot-in-mouth failures).
If you think about such things, too, this a good baseline for your interactions. Even you think you know these things, it's always good to hear again.
*knock knock*
Hi, I'm just going around, speaking with your neighbors today, and I was wondering if I could interest you in a flamethrower?
War with Iran, massive unemployment, and a bursting tech bubble? What year is it again?
I know it's a popular game, but I can't be the only one seriously creeped out that someone named their game "Mewgenics".
It would be like making a fun study focus aid and naming it "Concentration Camping".
This falls under "just don't make your logo a swastika, it's not that hard!"
"Where did I get this bag of apples from?"
Is it a good or bad sign when you start writing, and now have two completely separate articles to publish, because the side rant took on a life of its own?
I know it's months away, but pulling all those IDs in Kansas is also going to manifest as voter suppression of the trans population. Watch for this shit in any other states that have voter ID laws.
What Happened on This Day Throughout History? On this day in 1,643,891,281BC: Couldn't find any information about this day as there was no recorded history back then. On this day in 3,391,004BC: Same problem with this year unfortunately :( On this day in 264,741BC: I don't believe this. Can't find anything for this day either. On this day in 2,938,603,818: Ok, this has been a disaster. In hindsight, I probably should have selected some specific recent years myself rather than letting an app choose them at random. Major mistake on my part. Hopefully it's still been informative, though.
As a history buff, I thought it would be interesting to pick random years throughout time and take a look back at what happened on this day
I use this one far more often than is reasonable.
Appropriate response.
I think I'm going to open an 80's post-punk themed polynesian restaurant. I'm calling it Poi Division.
Also, loving how the graph implies error bars around the extrapolation and not the data itself. That's baller af.
"we're very confident in both data points"
Triple in a panda suit!
