Besides GenAI, a less visible, but more impactful transformation is happening these days: climate change. Based on my experiences with adapting to GenAI, I'm convinced that climate change will bring unprecedented social unrest and political instability as our way to adaptation in the next 50 years.
I'm convinced that I have no idea of the impact GenAI will have in our jobs. Last week, I shipped roughly two weeks of engineering work in two days to production. To succeed, I needed my engineering and product backgrounds alike. How will even my reports transition to a similar approach to work?

You still don't get algorithms optimized for consumption, and thus leading to increasingly biased opinions. Instead, you can easily look for the same topics across news sites for a more thorough overview.
With #meta removal of #fact-checking, I was thinking about the core issue. The problem is that people read opinions as facts, even worse. We read opinion websites ( #facebook, #bsky) and treat them as facts. I love reading sci-fi, but I never consider them as facts. Where do people go sideways?
I recently discovered what I consider the most impactful book on #strategy I've read to date: "Playing to Win: How Strategy Really Works" by A.G. Lafley and Roger L. Martin. I can recommend it to everyone! It's "Shorten Your Odds" section might be a worthwhile read on its own too. #productmanagement
You just argued against yourself, saying that famines are the state of nature (as they are possible today as well, for example if fertilizers are not allowed).
Famine was part of human history until very recently. ourworldindata.org/famines A few big discoveries, like the fertiliser in agriculture increased yields to unprecedented levels, and resulted in a massive decrease in famine.
Famine is the state of nature for homo sapiens, not poverty. There is more and more evidence that this made us greedy. Poverty is a cultural phenomenon as shown by Sweden's XXth century. They moved from being one of the least egalitarian state to one of the most egalitarian. Culture can be changed.
I went to a #schwimmbad in #Wien. It was nice and clean, but still behind the bath culture of Iceland. I'm always puzzled how poorly cultures learn from each other even in today's globalised world. Do you have any favourite countries for bathing culture?

I just can't understand how can cookie approval popups provide value to the user. Wouldn't there be more value in removing them and offering less customized ads?
