My vote for the Oscar for Best original song this year is Train Dreams written by Nick Cave and Bryce Dessner. Such a beautiful song. The video is a superb cinematic souvenir of the lovely film. youtu.be/NNGEkvT2XlI

My ratings, categorization and comments about this year’s Oscar nominated films. There's something for everyone this year. If people are not watching Oscar nominated films, what are they watching?

The best football in the world is the UEFA Champions League (far better than the World Cup). Exhibits from today: RMAvMCI - wow, magnificent Valverde performance; PSGvCHE - Kvaratskhelia OMG a monster, what sport! Watch the highlights on YouTube!
I finished Present Harmony this morning - so many valuable insights into our lives and reminders and ideas that would benefit so many people. The research is considerable and the passionate storytelling brings a smile to my face. You can purchase the book or eBook on Amazon a.co/d/05kgpb2m.
So happy for the Seattle Seahawks and all theirs fans for an impressively strong Super Bowl LX win. I thought the speedy Witherspoon was such fun to watch on the Seahawks defence.
I was in Utah for business and took the opportunity to ski Alta for a day before coming home. When I returned my rental skis, someone commented on the early hour, but a kind lady said that the smile on my face said it all. youtube.com/playlist?lis...
First walking and talking vlog of the year - appropriate winter gear, how I tolerate a world full of bad news and what sports, movies and music I'm excited about. Includes some doggies and a point about winter tire requirements for Uber in Toronto. youtu.be/uRL57yUCDm0
We're back to Music Friday. Here's how I selected the 20 tracks for the best of 2025. pjmixer.blogspot.com/2026/01/2025...
…and the Bears have a player who shares my last name - more reasons to cheer Chicago.
For ex Lion OC, Ben Johnson, and MIB Roger, and for my good friend Marty, I’m cheering for the Bears. Sorry Jim.
Cheering for the Panthers - always like the underdog when I’m not invested AND running back Hubbard is a Canadian lad. 🇨🇦🏈
Happy music Friday. Enjoy a walk down a Toronto 70’s & 80’s new wave and early alternative music memory lane. CFNY 102.1 The Spirit of Radio was a major influence in my music tastes. Great doc.

Artistic highlights from a few days in Stockholm in the spring youtu.be/b9n2a3-oTOU?...
Quick video of neighbourhood nature vignettes captured on iPhone17 Pro and edited on the newly available Adobe Premiere for iPhone. Definitely better than iMovie and may be enough for quick and casual creations.
I’m giving it a 7/10 and I’m a big F1 fan.
3.5 out of 5 ain’t bad, or is that 3.5/10?
The holidays are a time when many people like to watch a good feature film (not just Christmas themed classics - I have that list too). Here are some suggestions and a catch-up of my movie reviews - pjmixer.blogspot.com/2025/12/movi...
The highlight of my day was a conversation with my brother.
Happy for Lando becoming F1 world champion. Liked that he took some chances today showing what a fabulous driver he is. Nice lad among a fun group of racing characters. Great season - super sport. Drive to Survive in ‘26 should be very entertaining. #F1
I really enjoyed making paella for dinner tonight, but I was a disappointed with the finished dish. I think it was too light on the smoked paprika. Not for the first time, but a first clear observation and out-loud comment - my enjoyment of cooking dinner outweighed eating the meal.
I’m always finding new music. I’ve been writing about this joy in my life since 2009. I’m up to 17. pjmixer.blogspot.com/2025/11/wher... #musicfriday #newmusicfriday
Wow, that’s quite a cliffhanger #Pluribus
Tuesday fog feeling
No such thing as bad weather, just…
It’s late. I’m tired. But the energy and excitement before LIGHTS OUT for F1 in Las Vegas is too much. The start and the first laps is a must see if you’re up. Enjoy the noise and the dry grip race fans.
So happy for the massive Jays game 4 win in LA and having the boys comeback to TO for game 6. LETS GO BLUE JAYS #WorldSeries
My PSA for TO drivers. I got hit with my first speed camera offence. It was for 62 km/h in a 50 km/h zone on Lawrence Ave West at Varna Drive. I’m surprised by a $83.25 fine for 12 km/h over the limit. Ouch.
I can say it now. I don’t think I saw Cal Raleigh smile the whole series. Not sure what it means, but it was a difference for me.
George Springer. Just WOW. I was worried about the knee, but heros - we have a few. Boss Schneider’s post-game expletives means something. More than just a game! What a team #BlueJays.
Agree. Nervous. But positive.
