The thing happened, it is happening, it will happen. It also might not happen, or maybe it didn't happen but should have happened, or it won't be allowed to happen.

Noted hefty impact that the pandemic had on our society & economy, ( the commission ) ultimately reasoned that decisions made at the time were “balanced and reasonable”.

The Government has a responsibility to ensure that technologies launched from New Zealand soil are not being used to help other countries wage war.

If Rocket Lab launches from Aotearoa are supporting the illegal war on Iran then the Government must be transparent about this.

Now’s the time to slash the price of public transport. The buses are still running as per same timetable - so no additional costs to operator

Too broke to pay tax? Methanex pays $70m dividend to Canadian owner The Govt has paid hundreds of millions in subsidies to the Taranaki-based methanol producer; now there are calls to speed its exit from NZ. Jonathan Milne reports.

Methanex didn't pay ANYTHING in taxes for the last 2 years though!

However it received $300 million in ETS subsidies from the government

IMO it would've been better to just give every employee $1 million each and shut it down - freeing up 45% of our gas supply #nzpol

I agree Bishop could stop votes going to Labour - but I can’t see Willis / Winston & Seymour being put back in their boxes.
Bishop would need a new finance minister - who?
Winston & Seymour have been in the driving seat - coalition collapses.
Confidence & suppl to election

He did say he was there into the new year - Media didn’t flag it.

Bishop would stem the bleed to Top / Nz1st but he couldn’t get over the line last year

Winston & Seymour would challenge his authority- I could see Coc failing. Too many dicks

Anyone else will bumble along & loose election

Another poor tax.
- time poor shopping at busy times - working poor
- how do you budget if cost is fluid
Democratisation of food - fair prices, ease of access, safe, local

The reason why we can afford to put homeless people in prison but not housing is because if you house them the homeless person benefits but if you put them in prison we can funnel public funds to a private prison corporation. It’s always about funneling public funds to the wealthy. Always.

The people in power right now in #NewZealand are proposing ministers have sole authority on projects next term

These ministers are often severely compromised by connections to the industries they are governing

We wont get any meaningful change on this with the grifters in power

Government rams through law attacking workers We are building a future where we do more, faster, to protect our planet and make sure everyone is treated equally.

“The passing of the Employment Relations Amendment Bill is a dark day for Aotearoa, and shows this government is on the side of big corporates and against the workers.” says Green Party Workplace Relations spokesperson Teanau Tuiono.

Solar, heat pumps ‘lower cost’ path than LNG for electrification, says NZGBC A new report argues New Zealand can meet its looming energy shortfall by accelerating rooftop solar and electric hot water

Government’s plan to import LNG for electricity generation would cost households and businesses up to $8.3bn

Same volume of electricity could be delivered through a $2.5b investment in rooftop solar panels and hot water heat pumps

I’ve got the Outlander PHEV 2019
Which is a station wagon - only 50k on the EV - for me that’s all I would tend to do in a day - then charge again at night.
Unless I’m heading out of town - where I use petrol. A good mix for me.

Luxon is in the running for the dumbest National Party Think Big Project, with his LNG import terminal. He is competing with Muldoon's Motunui synthetic petrol plant which was obsolete before it was completed. But I reckon a $2.7 billion attempt to lock NZ into fossil fuels is in the running.

Oh, so just caught up with the news - new taxes can just disappear by calling them levies. Sweet. That wealth levy of ours should now be supported by everyone. Labour can go bolder with its CGL

Imported LNG?

Why, oh why, are we under the thumb of absolute #FossilFools?

We could have energy independence with cheap offshore wind and solar power. We could phase out fossil fuels and transition to a carbon free economy.

But not with these crapitalist bootlickers in charge.

This is tying […]

NZ building a fossil gas import terminal in the #climatecrisis could be Luxon’s most STUPID idea yet.

Why not spend that BILLION dollars on household solar and battery installation?

Would be safer, more resilient, provide cheaper power and climate-friendly.

More rooftop solar in NZ would help solve the energy crisis – and build disaster resilience.
