This guy in my neighborhood bulletin board group said this crap to me, right after quoting like a whole page of Eric Schwalm at me.

In solidarity with all those standing up for our communities against the brutality of immigrant detention and ICE occupation, we're offering free ebooks of three crucial books about migrant justice and border abolition.
Weβve also added a list of additional recommended reading:
The officer who fatally shot a Minneapolis man during a protest is an 8-year Border Patrol veteran, federal officials say.
Once again, stop giving a pass to the regime by assuming these agents are new and poorly trained.
The default position should be that they are experienced, trained, and doing what they have been trained to do.
I just spoke with the White House after another horrific shooting by federal agents this morning. Minnesota has had it. This is sickening.
The President must end this operation. Pull the thousands of violent, untrained officers out of Minnesota. Now.
Hey Tom you shameless soulless piece of shit, come to the Cities and find me ONE non-Minnesotan, I double dog dare you. Jesus will look you in the eye when you die and say "I never knew you."
People are the most important thing, but the gutting of the BWCA breaks my already broken heart. It's such a blow. I want every MN GOP rep who voted for that gone.
Liam Ramos, a preschooler ICE detained the five-year-old Minnesota boy as he returned home from school and transported him to a detention center in Texas.
She said she and her volunteers have been tailed by ICE, and that agents have even shown up at her residence because some of the delivery vans they use are registered in her name.

There is going to come a time in your life when you are chatting with a guy, at a barbecue or something, a new coworker maybe, a dad at school drop off, and he tells you he used to be in ICE. Youβre going to need to spit on that guy
Another friend put it to me like this: "ICE has made the classic Nazi mistake. They've invaded a winter people in the winter."
I have been actively involved in protest movements for 24 years. I have never seen anything approaching this scale. Minneapolis is not accepting what's happening here. ICE fucking murdered a woman for participating in this, and all that did is bring out more people, from more walks of life.
I came to Minneapolis to report on what's going on, and one of the main questions I showed up with is "just what is the scale of the resistance?" After all, we're all used to the news calling Portland a "war zone" or whatever when it's just some protests in one part of town.
This is a photo of someone being tortured, not someone being restrained
Yes, immigration agents not only took Arnoldo's phone, the 10th grader had to use Find My Phone to locate it β in a vending machine for used electronics, close to an ICE detention center.

Ron Swanson would be so disappointed.
America is now at the heavily armed secret police doing warrantless door-to-door house raids in search of undesirable ethnicities and/or political dissenters stage. The difference from well known historical cases is down to scale.
For other lawyers in private practice in the Twin Cities: how are you making plans to help? How are making yourself *available* to help?
Personally: I have 2 trials this week, but once those are squared away I'm not taking any cases which require heavy upfront time until the occupation is over.
The Oglala Sioux Tribe is trying to locate four members detained by ICE agents in Minneapolis.
Reports and videos show ICE agents asking American citizens whether theyβve βlearned their lesson over the last few daysβ are deeply troubling. Language like this implies intent and raises serious questions about premeditation and mindset on the scene.
A woman recording an ICE agent tells him "Shame on you."
The agent responds, "Have you all not learned from the past couple of days?"
"Learned what?" she asks
Then he knocks her phone out of her hand
if you're looking for a non-appropriative alternative: "may their memory be a revolution" started in the Orthodox Jewish community for victims of domestic violence, but it was suggested by the head of the organization that came up with it for George Floyd, so I think it's ok to use more broadly
I want to emphasize for people again: there's a bunch of AI stuff going around of people confronting ICE agents. It's fake. It's slop.
Verify before reposting.
This is what I think of when I recognize that the lies Tricia McLaughlin, Kristi Noem, Stephen Miller, JD Vance, and Trump all told about Renee Good's killing are INCONSISTENT.
They're not just inconsistent with the video. They're inconsistent with each other.
Rest in power to Keith Porter who was murdered by an ICE agent in Los Angeles.
Itβs terrible that his name is just now being circulated, but now that it is, continue to say his name.

Our new (in December) paper offers advice for early career scientists who want their research to help influence conservation and management policy. Lots of people say that they want to do this, but lack the policy training to do it meaningfully and usefully. Our paper can help!

NEW: Data released by ICE shows that virtually the entire growth of detention in the last few months has been among people with no criminal record at all - no prior convictions (no matter how minor) and no pending criminal charges.
A married couple was shot in Portland by federal agents. Early reports indicate the agents involved were US Customs and Border Protection (CBP). The individuals were taken to the hospital. The reason shots were fired has not been publicly explained. More details to come as information is confirmed.
