"The people who are destroying the country aren't in higher learning! Let's cry about that for a while"
Read the thread, it's a delight!
Look at this upcoming event! I'm excited for it
Are you ethically non-monogamous? Are you going to be in the Seattle area at the end of April? If so you should really consider making it to this event

Also I'm volunteering for it so if you want to perform or partner or sponsor or donate anything to it please reach out!
Oh, good here comes the bus- Aw, shit! Itβs a different bus
Not the right bus, not the bus I need
The question is always "what if a kid is wrongfully transitioned" and never "what if a trans kid is denied the ability to transition and endures years of excruciating dysphoria and has to have multiple surgeries later in life to fix the issues caused by going through the wrong puberty."
The Paradox of Tolerance disappears if you look at tolerance, not as a moral standard, but as a social contract. If someone does not abide by the terms of the contract, then they are not covered by it. In other words: The intolerant are not following the rules of the social contract of mutual tolerance. Since they have broken the terms of the contract, they are no longer covered by the contract, and their intolerance should NOT be tolerated. inspired by 'Tolerance is not a moral precept" by Yonatan Zunger ZonenteZ commasameleon Follow Sorry as someone who teaches rhetoric this is a wonderful response to the Paradox of Tolerance. I cannot tell you how many times my students have had debates about this. This is the response. This does indeed fix it. I cannot wait to tell this to my classes now. Philosophically and rhetorically this completely resolved the Paradox of Tolerance and I am floored by its simplicity and angry I never saw it before.
if this kickstarter hits its goal, i am contracted to write a story about a literal cum heist. folks, i want to write this story. pledge today.

I won't be there but my partner is going with friends on Saturday and I asked him to stop by and get me some things π
Work just laid off all their seasonals 2 weeks early. I'm out of a job on Friday.
I don't know how to keep coping with this.
Please, if anyone has work, I've done technical support, project management, event coordination, project coordination. I don't want to lose my house.
I guess I keep going because what else am I going to do? But it feels both pointless and hopeless right now
I'm sitting here staring at my last paper of spring quarter. I only have three pages left and then have to pretty up the citations. And I'm just asking myself what the point is? WWIII is starting and we're the bad guys and I don't know what tomorrow's world is going to look like
Frame from campaign ad by Rep. Dan Goldman. His face full on center frame under which is the caption in all caps βABOLISH ICEβ
Public pressure means something. Primaries can change policies. In NY-10, Dan Goldman has been running ads for months.
Primaried from his left by @bradlander.bsky.social, Goldmanβs ads have gone from βAgents should have to carry IDβ in January, to big bold graphics this month that say βAbolish ICE.β

Just normal (not at all terrifying and out of control) stuff
Seriously though, this is scary
landlords are going to show up tomorrow, it is critical that regular folks do too.

I grew up in Oregon. This plan to clear cut Oregon's old growth forests is terrible in multiple ways. This article gives info on the situation and also where/how you can submit a comment to the BLM. Comment period closes March 23.
It's fucking arduous even when everything is amicable. I'm sorry, it's ridiculous how hard it is to get divorced when it's so easy to get married
They always have trillions of dollars for illegal wars in the Mideast, but SCOFF in your face and clutch their pearls when you ask for universal healthcare. You are all being played.
Fact Check: An immigrant doesnβt stand between you and a good job.
A billionaire does. Pass it the hell on.
There was some true joy shown in submission which I liked a lot. It subverted my expectations at pretty much every turn & in a way that made me happy. Preach thought it was a bit one dimensional but even so liked it a lot. I think it might be my favorite depiction of kink in a mainstream movie
I have lots of thoughts but mainly I really liked it. I think it's a movie for queer, leather, & kinky folks more than casual romance fans. It didn't set the audience up with "this is what these lifestyles are like" & it didn't blunt the edges & it took those seriously while still being funny
The world is pretty much literally on fire but Preach and I made it to the 11:30 matinee showing of Pillion. I have high hopes for this movie but just getting out of the house is a win. Time for an hour and a half distraction from our current hellscape
