Do *not* like first person.
Well, apart from in gonzo journalism and the occasional crime book.
Definitely never in anything remotely historical.

If there's a silver lining for me in *all this*, it's that people are finally talking about the profound damage caused by being obsessed with Armageddon, especially to those who grow up with it. There's a part of my brain which will never heal.
My favourite is Hamlet, but I do enjoy both Richards. They are seriously under-rated.
"βAnd Herod said again / There will be peace in all my landβ¦/And the land became exceedingly quiet; / but this was not peace."
Bruce Dawe, "News from Judea."
The hairline is different too.
Or they could just do what my son and all his mates do, and lock up an old broken secondhand phone they bought for that exact purpose, while still carrying their actual phone.
Nobody ever prepared me for the fact that so much of my adult budget would go to the chemist and at the shoe shop finding things that are dress-code compliant for work but don't hurt my feet.
After what happened when Francis met JD, one can hardly blame him.
Richmal Crompton... loved reading her books as a kid.
No darkness lasts forever. And even there, there are stars.
How bad has your day been?
Not just you! I submit for consideration the following:
1) All the people who play Greenday's "Good Riddance" as a graduation song,
2) All the people who think The Police's "Every breath you take" is a love song.
And those are people who actually heard the lyrics!
Throw in a few cats and something good to eat/drink and I'm there.
Straight where my brain went, too!
I thought the Chinese had ended ice hockey in Canada? ;)
Go, Canada, go!
It seems I've developed a fun new allergy to raspberries. And by 'fun', I mean a totally different word that also starts with F-U.
You can test new tech ideas using the Seinfeld Test
Would the product eliminate the plot of an episode? (Google maps, cell phones, paypal, battery packs)
Good tech.
Would the product inspire new Seinfeld plots? (NFTs, AI chatbots, crypto currency, blindboxes, metaverse land sales)
Bad tech.
I'm sure it's pure coincidence they were there. If history has shown us anything, it's that rich and important men never let the power go to their heads. /s
Such a convenient way to help out, requiring no effort on your part to work out who the worthy recipents were, or how to get the money to them... just pay your tax and let the government share it round. Sounds great, doesn't it!
That's the one!
I note with concern that my voice, which has been gone for about 8 weeks, has only just started to improve in the last week. 7 weeks of good behaviour, water and veggies. One week of hoovering up sugar and eating crap, and now it gets better. I think my body may have ODD (or just IS odd).
Defs not a pelican. Remember the rhyme about how you know when you're looking at a pelican, because "his beak can hold more than his belly can"? No? It's just me then?
So, hypothetically, if you were to make a solo-cup-in-chain-link-fence message over an overpass, youβd be putting in the letters backwards. And, again hypothetically, you might want a template for that.
Hypothetically.
Absolutely. I'd argue the other difference is that the German people didn't have the advantage of decades of exposure to well-documented materials explaining very clearly what happens if you don't act to stop Nazis.
This CAN'T be real.
Anyway, there IS paperwork on Greenland - and the US signed it! The 1916 Treaty of the Danish West Indies. The US bought the Danish West Indies for $25 M - and in return, the US GAVE UP ALL CLAIMS TO GREENLAND.
It's actually posted on the Dept of State website - for now.
It is about the only job Scomo hasn't put his name down for. Well, that and firefighter.
I've seen enough superhero type movies to know evil billionaire villains are gonna evil billionaire villain. What's really shocked me is how many working or middle class Americans have responded by... bootlicking and cheering it all on. I actually can't comprehend any of it.
