Went to a mall Saturday near my parents home. This mall in Northbrook, IL used to be *the* upscale mall in the north suburbs of Chicago. Even right before Covid, I swear it was busy.
It’s now almost dead. Most of the tenants are gone. Literally felt like I was in a post-apocalyptic dystopian movie.
My hometown was Speed Skating Capital of the World.
It’s about the athletes and the spirit of competition.

I've found Tribune articles attributing the firm to designing both Northbrook Court and Louis Joliet Mall, but little else beyond false-positives.

The existing multiplex rebranded as AMC upon acquiring bankrupt General Cinema's assets in 2002. The master plan for redeveloping Northbrook Court does not include retaining the theater, it will be one of two AMC facilities in the area likely to close in the coming years -- the other being Golf Mill
