My son's band, Flok, (Ambrose is bottom right), based in Manchester and Scunthorpe. Next gig is Scunthorpe. Keep an eye on them, think they'll do great things - recently chosen to support Dirty Sterling in September.

Thank you to the amazing @somaghosh.bsky.social for including me on the pilot of Branched Out, 'The Tree Men of Wales and Bengal'. It's a new podcast - already listed as a @theguardian.com Best Podcast of the Week - on the cultural history of trees, launching globally on 23 April.

It's a great book. The End of Days, which follows one woman's life (and many deaths) across the 20th century is better still I think. Kairos - angry, socialist, the fall of East Germany - is oddly inspiring in its bleakness, shows a different path than our current consumerist one.

My first tentative post on Bluesky. I've just rebuilt my writer's site - a slightly primitive, handbuilt effort - at jonathanpage.info Do you have a writer's site? Is it useful to you? Just being nosey, really. And hello Bluesky.
