Album cover for the single Sweetwater Sales Engineer showing an old Harmony Rocket guitar with candy on it
This is what the cover art will be. Releasing Friday 4/10 on Bandcamp, streaming platforms (Spotify etc). A bit lighter than my recent fare and some solid Howlin’ Wolf / Muddy Waters influence on slide. Super happy with the slide parts
You and I both have wavy hair.
It waved bye-bye.
If saying “Thanks, it keeps my head warm” when someone compliments me on my hat is wrong, I don’t wanna be right
I don’t think you actually

Ebows are so cool. Sometimes nothing else will do.
Great feedback! I’d been feeling like the cymbals needed to chill a bit. I’ll look carefully around 3:44 re drum hits. Thank you!
Tell them I said hi! Mix in process here. Gonna bring the acoustic rhythm a little more up front, and perhaps dry out the drums a bit. Any other feedback, let me know! on.soundcloud.com/ZpL15wm8xUQn...
Great color! Is that surf green?
Think I have the Sweetwater Sales Engineer song tracked. Redid the slide solo and the Hammond organ tracks this am. Let it marinate, come back and do a final mix in a day or so.
When people text me a screenshot of something and I can see that their phone battery is <10%, I want to say “go charge that thing”
I will not claim to be good at slide - I’m a songwriter who gets by on it, not a lead player - but on a good day, playing slide feels like being a centaur that’s part human, part small glass bottle
There are highlight reels, but this is a lowlight reel.

I came for the social snark, but I’m staying for the songs and energy. You’ve got something special going on with this band. Come to Austin TX!
It smells poopy, if I may be specific
David Bowie was the opposite of authentic - always in one or another persona. And that let him be honest, which is beyond authentic.
Could add a super shaggy one for fuzz. And one freshly washed and sitting on a stool as a clean boost

Bass recording best practice: hold the final note and let it sustain out naturally so the engineer can fade it as desired.
My bass reality: if I did that with this Precision, I'd be here all day. "You can go out and get a bite of lunch and it'll still be ringing."
Such a great bass!

I’m trying without googling and can’t figure it out. Super curious!
And the broken part is what makes it amazing. I’m obsessed with imperfection - it’s a constant theme in my writing.
Rest and hope your voice is strong for Friday! Tea with lemon and honey or whatever works for you.
The best art is a bit contradictory that way. Universal human experiences that we share, expressed in a unique way through one person’s eyes
