Working on that next!
With the transfer portal becoming more and more prevalent in college football, I thought I'd look into BYU's history of FBS transfer additions.
The Cougars have had 126 FBS transfers enter the program. Here are all the schools they played for prior to coming to Provo.
2011 D1 transfer starters:
LB Uona Kaveinga (USC)
NT Hebron Fangupo (USC)
QB Riley Nelson (USU)
2024:

Jakob Robinson
Weylin Lapuaho
Harrison Taggart
Marque Collins

Every country that a @BYUMBB
player has played in professionally.
Been awhile since I put together a map like this.
There are former Cougars currently playing in the following countries:
China
England
Germany
Greece
Hungary

Started 28 games on the offensive line from 1995-97 and signed as an undrafted free agent with the Pats in 1998.
As @jfloyd314.bsky.social pointed out on my other post, there have not been 3 players from Belgium, just one (Martin Barre 2018). I've corrected it in the map in the link!
Where do BYU football players come from? Here's a map to help answer that question! Thanks to BYU Uniform Tracker (on the other place) for the inspiration. Click the link to explore the map a bit more!

For anyone curious about what former Cougars were up to within the ranks of college football in 2024. Here's a quick summary!

With 162 yards yesterday, Puka Nacua passed up Golden Richards and Dennis Pitta to move to No. 3 all-time in receiving yards by a BYU player in the NFL.

Yeah. Wifeβs from there and we were luckily able to work remote.
Cuenca was my favorite area we stayed in. And lots of expats from the U.S./Europe so you can get by a bit easier with less Spanish.
Spent two months in Ecuador last year. Going again (just for a week) next month. The beaches are nice. The mountains as well (Quito/Cuenca). Country is having some trouble lately though, so it might not be the best time to go.
The classic βyou canβt criticize a player if you werenβt also a high level playerβ comment.
This is very funny coming from an Aggie
I think they could if BYU pushed for it. Or if they review it themselves (NCAA/Big 12).
And then it wound up getting ruled incomplete anyway.
Also, I realize that says 20+. I posted that before the FG and just copy/pasted haha
True. If they do come back to win, itβll be BYU history.
There have been three games in BYU history where they came back to win after being down by 20+ at the half:
2002 Utah State (27 pt, 34-7)
1990 Wazzu (22 pt, 29-7)
2000 Virginia (21pt, 21-0)
And with the way the offense has been playing for the last two and a half games, Iβm pretty worried for that Houston game next week.
If you think BYU has a chance to come back in this one, you must have missed them half-assing everything all half.
This is⦠kinda how I saw things going. Offense has been struggling for a while now.
Today will be the 29th meeting between BYU and ASU. The Sun Devils have won 20 of the first 28 games, but BYU has won the last 3 (ASU was ranked in all 3 games).
The first matchup took place in Tempe in 1935 when ASU was still the Bulldogs, not the Sun Devils. BYU won 13-0.
My game day preview and score prediction for #BYU vs. Arizona State here in Tempe.

BYU just became only the fifth team ever to sweep both the women's and men's NCAA Cross Country titles in the same year.
They join CU (2004), Stanford (1996 and 2003), and Wisconsin (1985).
Itβs their 6th national championship!
Previously won in 1997, 1999, 2001, 2002, and 2020-21
Very much. Hope they can pull it out !
