β’ If there's one thing controversial CBS News editor Bari Weiss has earned praise for it's her hands-on booking of big names for the network. But there's one booking she seems to have blown up: New York mayor Zohran Mamdani, who had been in talks to appear for an interview on CBS News Sunday Morning with Robert Costa.
Mamdani's team, I'm told, has long been averse to appearing on CBS given the coverage his campaign got from Weiss's The Free Press, but her recent social media post reacting with a fire emoji to an Iranian activist's diatribe against Mamdani was the "nail in the coffin" for him appearing on the network, two sources with knowledge told me. "Bari and her people have a clear axe to grind for him," said one former CBS producer. (CBS News did not respond to a request for comment.) And the network's turn away from news and toward opinion is proving to be a broader problem. "It's not just Zohran," the source said. "It's really
lol. CBS had been trying to get Zohran Mamdani for an interview, but Bari Weiss' deranged tweeting caused him to turn it down

A photo of a magazine with a recipe for dill pickle lemonade. It says,
Dill Pickle Lemonade
The salty pickle brine balances the lemonade's sweetness, creating a refreshing, unexpectedly delicious flavor.
TOTAL: 20 MIN SERVES: 4
10-11 lemons, divided
1 cup granulated sugar
3 cups filtered water
1 cup pickle brine, preferably from refrigerated fermented pickle spears
Cut 1 lemon into slices and place in bottom of large bowl. Add sugar and mash with wooden spoon until lemon releases juices. Stir to help dissolve sugar. Set aside.
2. Juice remaining lemons until you have approximately 2 cups lemon juice.
3. In bowl with sugar mixture, add lemon juice and water; stir until sugar is fully dissolved. Strain mixture through fine mesh strainer set over large pitcher, discard solids.
4. Add pickle brine to pitcher: stir to combine. Taste and add more sugar or pickle brine, as needed. (Note: Flavor will be less strong if served over ice.)
5. Serve cold or over ice, garnished with pickle spears. Refrigerate any leftovers.

AAUP-OSU Statement on the Selection of Provost Ravi Bellamkonda as Permanent OSU President
We are surprised and disappointed at the Board of Trusteesβ decision to choose a new permanent university president without even consulting faculty, staff, and students. Ohio Stateβs system of shared governance - not to mention best practices in hiring university presidents - requires all of us having a say in the process. This hasty, undemocratic process starts this presidency on the wrong footing and sends the wrong message about our supposed shared values.
The speed and secretiveness of this selection follows a troubling pattern of institutional entitlement. The last few years at Ohio State under Ted Carter have been characterized by mass arrests, a chilling of free speech, allegations of covering up abuse, and now corruption. Why risk more public mistrust when OSU is already constantly in the news for the wrong reasons and there has been so much reputational harm? Now is the time to be more careful with decision-making and more accountable, not less.
In just the past two days, over 700 peopleβfaculty, staff, students, alumni, as well as community membersβsigned our petition calling for a presidential search committee that reflects the democratic structure of the University Senate. That demand to be heard still stands. Going forward, we will continue to work to make sure that OSU faculty and others actually have a voice.
This rushed process has given us no time to consider or discuss the merits of Provost Bellamkondaβs elevation to the presidency, but we wish him well and hope for a successful presidency. If the new president wants to win the trust of the community, he should take immediate action to show that he represents a new era - repeal Ted Carterβs anti-free speech policies, listen to abuse survivors, and commit to greater transparency and authentic shared governance going forward.
And just like that, a new permanent OSU president!
Please read & circulate our statement.
We will continue to be active in creating space for the voices of faculty & the university community. We invite all faculty to join the chapter & all who want transparency & inclusion to work with us.

4/ Ok, so what ARE the goals? It seems, primarily, destroying lots of missiles and boats and drone factories.
But the question that stumped them: what happens when you stop bombing and they restart production?
They hinted at more bombing. Which is, of course, endless war.
