#OpenData
Heute Open Data Beer im Event Space Bogen D in #Zürich. Präsentationen um 18:15 Uhr. Kommt zahlreich und früh genug!
It's great and works really well, so far. We've also been experimenting with chat bots, based on #LinkedOpenData to overcome these barriers. Take a look at
melody-bot.ch
Oh dear, I forgot to post the link. #DataBS check this out: #MCP Server for a great number of #OpenData Portals, based on CKAN 👇
github.com/ondata/ckan-...
Great. I've only used it with the web interface of ChatGpt and Le Chat so far, but it worked really well and I will make Post there with my experiences. Btw. One of our colleagues made an mcp for our city portal. I need to check that, too github.com/malkreide/zu...
How awesome is this? @ondatait.bsky.social (@aborruso.bsky.social) have quietly developed a #MCP Server that is able to query (almost) all #CKAN Data Portals. That, of course, includes our @opendatazurich.bsky.social Portal. They have a testing instance that you can include in your ChatGPT/Claude..
haha, yes! It's a used and refurbished T-Series Lenovo. Probably so reliable because it's old and has no GPU (Remember Linus Torvalds was not a fan of NVIDIA 😅). But I might need a new one soon, because I reach the hardware limits quite some times. Omarchy looks cool, but I am not so much into TUIs
Für alle faulen Stimmbürger:innen, die die Parole ihrer Lieblingspartei abschreiben wollen: ein kleines Tool von mir zeigt die Abstimmungsparolen – und macht klar, dass selbst Parteien sich nicht immer einig sind. #abst2026

That is a truly impressive setup! I'm on Ubuntu for about 10 years, now. Not impressive at all but it's a work horse: does what it should without complaining.
The config in dotfiles approach is quite interesting, though. I should take a look at that.
Open data friends,
If you could recommend only one resource (book, website, organisation, social media account, video, tool, other) what would you recommend to someone starting on their #opendata journey?
Something that will help them learn and explore.
Which is the best form to provide table Data to a #LLM? Markdown, CSV, plain Text, others? I have a table with few numbers but more text. The task is about interpreting the text. #DataBS do your magic.

Yesterday, I had to install @postgresql.org and pgAdmin for a #DataEngineering training course and nearly went nuts because I couldn't connect pgAdmin to the local database. As it turned out, you always have to set a user password for this (which I didn't 🫣).
I know that you're a keyboard aficionado, so I interpret that as: The keyboard is perfectly fine for the average user 😜
Insane Setup 🤯. Are you Happy with the Case, Keyboard quality? I was thinking about a tuxedo Notebook years ago but got a refurbished ThinkPad instead, because I read the quality was better than tuxedo.
However, making money from open-source is hard, but I still hope that many will pursue this path. When deciding on a tool, I will always pick the open-source one.
To me, it builds trust, and because it's shared as a gift for anyone to use, it makes me want to support it more.
Post-K-Pop, Love that!
Nice! I Just updated my bucket list.
Outside View of Moesgaard Museum
A staircase showing human Evolution with statues of different human species.
The famous Grauballe man, a bog body from the Iron age, found in Denmark.
Another great destination in the Aarhus area: Moesgaard Museum. Interesting exhibits from the #StoneAge to the #Vikings for the #Archeology nerds in the family (yes, that's me, but not only 😅). Also impressive modern Danish architecture again.
Outside of Dokk1 in Aarhus, Denmark
View in the harbor from Dokk1, Aarhus.
Today I visited Dokk1 in Aarhus, Denmark. It not only is a public library, it also has a great family area with all kinds of games and playgrounds. And on top there is a stunning view! Loved it!
And the actual Job is ... [Checks notes] ... Excel
Beaches and Bunkers in Hirtshals, Denmark.

Thank you for sharing! You made some interesting points. I'm curious how your journey continues. I'm on Linux with my private notebook for 10 years now, but your requirements are higher than mine. I basically use standard Ubuntu.
