My favorite part was the very deliberate phrasing "*Deserve* attention". Not "grab attention" or "get attention". If you do good things for people they'll want to pay attention.

Also if you keep going past violet on the human vision chart, do you just wrap around to the red again via the pinkish part?
Oops.
More this! โ๏ธ
Echo that... loved that talk!
So glad in person meetups are back... biggest CascadiaJS ever?!?
It is a pleasure to hang with all you folks!
...or a piranha with legs?
Not a drawing / doodle, but I did create this little guy at OMSI After Dark last night...
Between the nice weather and the new handlebar tape job, the road bike has been getting some more love recently.
Spent my Friday morning at PDX Code & Coffee with @brittanyellich.com , @anniesexton.com , and about a dozen or so other awesome folks. Thanks for all the writing/blogging advice... very helpful!
We spent 3 1/2 weeks there, mostly London, some up in York - no shortage of fascinating stuff to do!
Things we really enjoyed:
- London Museum of Transport
- The Victoria & Albert for more artsy stuff
- Bletchley Park (spent all day there, but it's an hour north by train - highly recommend for tech/history nerds)
- Greenwich (many sites there, but the talks/tours at the observatory are ๐)
I have sooo been enjoying late afternoons on my deck the last few days. โ๏ธ
Interesting... I only heard of Babymetal about a year ago.
Thanks, @anniesexton.com! Enjoying the beautiful Portland weather in my fly.io socks.
Sometimes. Often I just run my service(s) with a local runtime (version pegged, of course). But we do use testcontainers for spinning up test dependencies like a new Postgres DB for example. Or a Kafka broker... stuff like that.
I've tried. There's no way.
We tried Linear for a bit but outside the dev team no one would move away from Jira... too invested. Very frustrating.
And that nobody's been able to mount serious competition to it. ๐คฆ
Whuuuuuuuuut? Somebody's not using Jira??? ๐
Just started reading this after seeing your post. It'll be a great resource to pass on to Tyler!
Alex, your talk inspired me. I'm a guitarist / bass player but haven't played around with MIDI before. Now I'm motivated because "I can just do things".
