The MAGA Plot to Take Down Canada A growing movement of MAGA-pilled Albertan separatists would happily break up the country to be closer to Trump.

Sigh. This is all related & a shameful mark on my home province. Many AB conservatives are MAGA wannabes, with their victim mentality and xenophobia (at best). Most Albertans I know are sickened by the UCP and canโ€™t wait to vote them out. I really hope they do.

Alberta pipeline capacity, explained | The Narwhal Hereโ€™s what you need to know about pipelines โ€” real and imagined โ€” from Alberta to the West Coast

โ€œRight now, thereโ€™s enough pipeline space for all the oil Alberta produces.โ€

With the taxpayer-funded $34B TMX expansion, the system has the potential to handle 1 million more barrels than it does today. Enough of the oil bluster from AB already, yr swimming in it.

Really too bad the world economy can be turned upside down by of a handful of oil producers (and the wars to control them). Too much power. Canโ€™t wait til we are free of these last-century fossil fuel shackles.

In the other US target of regime change, Cuba, I saw real hardship โ€“ and resilience | Sara Kozameh Trump is choking off oil imports to the communist nation, plunging it into a crisis not seen since the fall of USSR, says Sara Kozameh, assistant professor in history at UC San Diego

Eyes on Cuba. The resilience of people there is being tested harder then in years, my heart goes out to this country & these amazing people.

Costs from Trump's tariffs paid mainly by US firms and consumers, NY Fed says Last year, collective import tariff rates on various goods coming into the US more than tripled.

Watching this closely as my immediate 3-block radius features a dozen or so tower proposals. Most would be replacing existing apartments, many filled with long term tenants (hi!) that will be displaced at once. Always wondered how these protections would, in fact, 'work'.

RIP to one of the greats, Sly Dunbar, who passed this week. I spun some of the albums he plays on, in tribute this week: Grace Jones, King Tubby, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Herbie Hancock, Peter Tosh, Lover's Rock, Max Romeo & The Upsetters... many of these are masterpieces. What a legend.

Canada separatists accused of โ€˜treasonโ€™ after secret talks with US state department Alberta activistsโ€™ covert meetings with US officials revealed, outlining groupโ€™s increasingly emboldened efforts

Here's the bit about shameful Albertans seeking US funds for the breakup of Canada. Premier Smith of Alberta has even said she would like to be the Prime Minister of this new country. I agree this amounts to treason, Alberta's prov gov't is an embarrassment. www.theguardian.com/world/2026/j...

Alberta premier says sheโ€™s ruled out Kitimat, B.C., for proposed pipeline route | CBC News Speaking at a news conference Thursday, Alberta Premier Danielle Smith said the route to Kitimat would be โ€œtoo complex," saying there are "too many channels to navigate."

Alberta is harming Canadian sovereignty by asking the US for funding to start their supposed new country. I think our fed gov't should cease all support for pipeline routes through what might then be a foreign country (Canada), if these treasonous Albertans have their way. www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...

Landmark British photographer Martin Parr dies aged 73 Parr said his brightly coloured, closely observed pictures of British life were โ€˜disguised as entertainmentโ€™ but they became hugely popular Martin Parr, the British documentary photographer who captured the peculiarities of the nation with clarity and hilarity, has died aged 73. He had been diagnosed with cancer in May 2021. Known for his acute observations of the English class system, Parrโ€™s images covered sunbathers and Conservative clubs, village fetes and coffee mornings, often in vivid colour and with more than a dash of humour. His iconic 1986 photobook The Last Resort: Photographs of New Brighton captured working-class holidaymakers in the Wirral, Liverpool and helped mark a sea change in British documentary photography, from the gritty, black and white style of the past towards a cheekier and more colourful style. Vote for the Canada Liberal Party and youโ€™re gonna get some pipelines. Theyโ€™re the only ones building the things - Trudeauโ€™s oil sands expansion and now Carneyโ€™s capitulation, all to make Alberta happy. Howโ€™d that work out for Trudeau last time, tho?
