It's been over a year since I released the version 0.2 (New Perspective) of Sputnik's Journey. I tried to play it today just to compare and it's so painful lol. I'm glad I'm improving. Starting to feel like the game is actually getting good now.

It would be nice if the game asked what type of control you want to use the first time you boot up the game, because it took me some time to realize how to set up mouse/keyboard controls. "What type of control would you like to use? (You can change it in settings)." message would work perfectly.

In worst case for some people it can trigger a seizure. I also recommend putting a flashing lights warning at least on the game's pages.

Unrelated to level design, but the tiles on the tutorial still flicker on small OLED screen. Sadly, I can't capture it on camera, but it's very unpleasant for the eyes. I think slowing down the speed of the moving grid would help. Making it static wouldn't be criminal too.

That's why I didn't even beat the last level at all. I spent half of the time looking at Macky dying and making no progress.

I wish the level restarted as quickly as it does when you restart from the pause menu.
I do realize you like Megaman, but I don't think disappearing platforms fit this type of game. It's frustrating, cause it's so hard to make progress and figure out the puzzle when it's gets reset so easily.

You die, you watch the death animation, the menu appears, you manually press the restart button, watch the level title and only when you can continue. Keep in mind, that this happens every time you miss a jump or simply try to figure out the steps you need to take.

But these two don't work like that. They're both also take your reaction and timings in account. And it wouldn't be too big of an issue if it didn't take so long for the level to restart for an each attempt.

I did beat all levels on par except the last one and here are my thoughts.
Personally, I don't like the way the Hydraulic Processes and Risky Climb are designed.
The approach for most of the levels is usually take it step by step. If you died, that means you took the wrong step.
Time Foray demo v0.2 is out!
It has new features and improvements over the v0.1 demo.

Concept art of in-game decorations.
I thought it was boring that the tiles and solid meteors are completely flat, so the solution I came up is to add some small decoration elements. Fun fact: they're different every time you restart the level!

Leaked ending for Sputnik's Journey.
Why does it actually sound like a good idea?
I can't choose just one!
Yep, most recent posts in my feed keep disappearing and reappearing randomly
I wish I could get one for myself
And I fell out of bounce D:
The point of this post? I dunno, I just like to explore how many games I can run on this thing. I never seen anyone even suggest the idea of playing web builds of indie games.
