The only thing I disagree with, is I still much prefer to build atmospheres out of stereo files over ambisonics. Phase issues be damned.
Fascinating article about how the brain interprets height speakers. Takeaways, high frequency sounds and building phantom center images in the tops, are easier for the brain to localize. #postaudiosky www.boomlibrary.com/blog/a-guide...
E.T. immediately comes to mind.
I jumped into the replies with a really clever comment only to see someone already did it better.
Paraphrasing Sarah Silverman right after the election, you can be an informed voter and not subscribe to his content.
Since switching to reading all my news, I haven't heard his voice since 2024 and I'm better for it.
Greatest TapeOp cover ever.
Why specify why he's balding? Oh I dunno. Maybe the same reason we all are?
Ever watch a movie trailer and wonder if the filmmaker is making the movie just for you? youtu.be/XJ0uv-phsDk?...
If I'm hearing what I'm hearing, I love the little quaver you (you?) put in the parent's voices in the hospital room. How fun is that??? And good for Lee for allowing such experimentation.
If everyone's goal is to leave the world a more beautiful place, Chris took the assignment literally.
Thomas is releasing some of the most interesting stuff out there today. AND he freaking sent me an actual, physical thank you card last time. Who does that? Just a cut above in all aspects. Thanks Thomas!!!
I watch the hell out of a PBS show with this guy hosting.
In his free time he runs (ran?) a podcast (Director Commentary) where he watches horror movies with the film's director. And his interviewing abilities are almost as great as his filmmaking skills. There aren't a ton of episodes, but they are all gold.
There are tools out there to take existing recordings, create a vocal signature, and allow you to have them say anything. The first most prominent use of this tech was a young Mark Hamill's voice in The Mandalorian. But it was with his consent...
Thank you!!! Why is everyone acting so shocked at this???
Sounds like what they most take issue with is βblatantly?β
Poor chumps. They think it snows in Colorado anymore.
I admit on the surface, it might look hypocritical, that in '24, when they refused to endorse a candidate and lost 350k subscribers (including mine), that we would now be sad that the WP has collapsed. But I was hoping to send a message to reform. Gain their credibility back. But he doubled down.
If it really catches fire and exceeds its current trajectory by 3x, it might very well surpass Ishtar.
Turns out these constitutionalists aren't big fans of the constitution.
Well, turns out...
"One person familiar with the production estimated that some two-thirds of the crew members who worked on the film in New York had requested not to have their names formally credited on the documentary." www.rollingstone.com/politics/pol...
Oh no. No. No. No. She was such a beautiful human.
Their accent was a dead giveaway.
Volatile Mermaid: Come for the searing wit and biting sarcasm, stay for the gut punches.
Turns out, some of those who work forces, are the same that burn crosses. www.youtube.com/watch?v=bWXa...
Maybe I'm naive, but iZotope is too critical for too many folks for someone not to snap it up and continue on. Yeah, there are lots of AI NR tools out there, but no other mouth de-click, spectral repair, de-clip out there worth a damn. I'm not too worried.
I've worked on morally dubious projects before, but there is nothing on this planet that would get me to work for Brett "Leni Riefenstahl" Ratner on this film. Nothing.
Gorgous!
