The problem is people see "disabled" and "injured" as completely different things.
They know they can be injured - that's bad luck and can happen to anyone. That's what hospitals are for.
But they see disability as something else. It's from birth. It's benefits, not hospitals. It's other people.
Thanks for mentioning that aspect of private diagnosis. Might also be quite common.
For instance, if parents have resources to provide support "behind the scenes" rather than having to disclose to get accommodations, they can also afford a private diagnosis if they want it.
The "diagnosed but not told" autistic people tend to get forgotten in the debates within the community about masking, diagnosis, etc.
It's probably more common than we realise. We need to do more to fight the fear and embarrassment about autism that still causes parents to do it.
Only occurs on some profiles (or when getting to the profile in a certain way). I contacted Bluesky support some time ago to report it, but nothing seems to have been done.

It's a active campaign to sow division and mistrust. To undermines our voice and send us back to a darker time. Noone is misinterpreting in good faith here anymore. There's enough evidence.

When applying, fine tune your CV to the role to include the exact terms they are looking for. Making shortlist is critical and it often happens fast. They don't spend time reading between the lines. But also try to apply early (prepare some variations of CV in advance for different types of job).

Yes, I made too much of a generalisation. Just caught me at a bad moment, I guess.
These aren't two different audiences. People laughing at rep screenings are also on phones at the multiplex. It doesn't help that rep cinemas have to do ironic selections and singalong/quotealong screenings just to survive these days.
Sometimes children like this feel responsible for things that they don't/can't control so also reassure them about this.

Does anyone know the name of the software for turning head tracking into mouse movements? I seem to remember one paired a forehead dot with it.
Not used it, but it seems like Apple has this built in as Head Pointer. Not sure what is best for Windows but some free apps seem available like Tracky Mouse or Animouse. Doubt any now would need a dot to track.
