Looking at #cholestasis, she delved into the relationship between bile acids and immune response, describing how different immune cells are affected by these bike acids.
Dr. Greg Guthrie kindly shared some early work from his latest project!
The introduction to a beautiful story beginning to be told, he touched on the microbiome, gut, and liver through a #neonatal #cholestasis lens. His talk inspired fabulous conversation, as well!
We pivoted from the gut to the #liver with Dr. Cynthia Ju’s talk! She discussed the communication that happens in the liver, particularly during immune response after #reperfusion injury and ischaemia.
#Celiac Disease is a highly complicated #autoimmune disorder.
However, Dr. Valerie Abadie expertly deconvoluted the immune intricacies of Celiac Disease in her talk - intercellular interactions in the intestine, all the different immune cells involved, and much more!
Dr. Jill Weatherhead served all of these #gastroenterology and #hepatology experts a lesson in worms!
Yes, she delved into #ascaris and her lab’s journey in connecting the stomach to this parasite’s ability to take advantage of this microenvironment
