i just realized this is kinda what mirror dungeons are in limbus except that switching your "deck" around is way harder so you typically just start with the archetype you want to have and build into it
wonder if you could make a deck-builder rougelike but without the card collection part, i.e. start with every card available to you but get passives that encourage you to play into a certain archetype or play style... might be worth experimenting with
