i think theres also a tendency among people who have come across a lot of scammers (or perceived scammers) recently to come down quickly and hard on anyone they assume is scamming, out of frustration or fatigue. ive seen this a lot in discord servers
i feel like if the colours were different people might say whimsigoth, i feel like words like patchwork and froufrou might also help if you’re looking for more of the same? maybe you will have to invent a word !
i saw the message before it was gone and was going to drop in a reply about Stone Telling from Always Coming Home, but when i had a moment to respond it had already disappeared! i don’t think you embarrassed yourself with it at all but i get it if it was more than felt good to share at that time

the expanded edition from Library of America has extra content, but is also more expensive than other versions. the original is complete on its own and doesnt feel like anything is missing in my opinion.

i’ve been reviewing everything i read since i started tracking my reading in 2024, about 70 books so far. i’m an honest reviewer but i like most of what i read so my avg. rating is about 3.7 stars.
i have friends who get ARCs using netgalley, but i haven’t tried that yet!

when you are writing a sentence with la and you use a comma, where do you put it?
1) ijo wan, la ijo tu
2) ijo wan la, ijo tu
3) ijo wan, la, ijo tu
4) i never use a comma with la
and if u want to tell me, i want to know why you do it that way!
i’m reading Always Coming Home by Ursula K. Le Guin again and it just overwhelms me with feeling every time i pick it up. i have to mete it out in small portions to be able to bear it. i love the book so much
i think about it as having two uses, the if/then structure and then just as the context particle. [ijo wan] la [ijo tu], in the context of thing one, thing two exists/happens/is true (this kind of works with the ‘as for’ phrasing). tomo ni la sinpin li loje - as for this building, the walls are red.
ask your mother (if youre asking for information) could be ‘mama sina li sona e ni’ or ‘mama sina o toki e ni tawa sina’ or something like this. bc in english its implying she knows, so she could tell you. or if its asking for permission for something, ‘o toki e ni tawa mama sina’
i think ‘moku suwi mute pi kasi taso’ is better otherwise ‘mute’ falls into the pi phrase! ‘i want a lot of sweet plant-only food’ is how i would translate this, whereas yours reads more like ‘i want many-sole-plants sweet food!’
took me a while to get to grips with when to use e too! reading toki pona helped it start to feel pretty natural, maybe theres something on lipu.pona.la that might be fun to check out and potentially try and translate
mi pana olin tawa sina is probably meant to be mi pana *e* olin tawa sina, and when you modify mi (like with mi mute) you need a li after it in sentences like mi mute li pona. i didnt read all of it but thats what caught my eye :) i also like to toki pona when i’m stressed out!
