Except when doing PT exercises, as I understand it, the brace or tape is to keep the tendons somewhat immobilized, so they can recuperate from the inflammation.
Also a visual reminder to do normal stuff with the affected hand. Or when you are sleeping and curling up your hands in weird positions
If it’s De Quervain’s syndrome, you could try tape. I have this in my left thumb and the brace is driving me crazy. My lovely neighbor, a hand therapist, sent me this.

One elderly lady actually incorporated it into a compliment,
telling me my dog had a “High IQ” because he was well behaved at a family function.
Not for nothin’ but he was just refraining from knocking over the garbage pail and piddling on the carpet.
I am not disagreeing with you, however this weirdly specific insult is something I’ve heard from contemporaries of my mother/her octogenarian pals in the NYC area, frequently directed at me for some perceived slight. At some point in their youth did the “IQ test” become a metric?

You’re welcome! Just be sure to whack the filled pans on a hard surface to get the air bubbles out, or they get a lil crackly, like the silver and teal above.
