The most annoying thing about ads is that they really don’t have to snoop and invade privacy to target people. Like, if sites just let me say “I’m thinking of getting this thing, show me ads for it over the next week” then it’d be win/win. Instead, hell was chosen for us. Social media chose evil.

This is part of the reason I love Star Trek. It paints a vision of a better future and I hope future explorations of the Trek universe paint a vivid picture focused on a society that has UBI or something similar.
