i get lamenting the death of unions and strikes but i do think it is true that they belong to a different point in history. a strike only does anything in a situation where all the workers downing tools *would* actually halt the whole operation, which is something hard to imagine happening now

the prob i experience a lot is that other people expect your job to be an expression of your character, where my sense of that is basically everything else i do other than my job (usually gets put down as simple hobbies, accents to the main event)
