I live with Foof the Cat, and two ghosts who only speak German. At least they only speak German when I'm around. Sometimes they play music. Sometimes I tell stories. Also: I’m staggeringly transgender.
They say the neon lights are bright on Broadway, but on OFF-Broadway, we opt for more eco-friendly light-emitting diode (LED) lights, and they're just as bright.
Or not, I dunno, really.
One thing that WILL be a bright light will be my show, Mounting Washington!

I thought it was lucky for Mom that her dad never yelled at her or beat her when he came home & took his anger & frustration out on her mother & brothers.
It wasn't until she was in her 80's that it occurred to me that what he was doing to her was far worse than what the rest of her family received.
My mother would talk about him to me all the time, because I was charming & entertaining from a young age & she would use these stories to explain why she would beat me Whenever I did anything charming & entertaining growing up.
I was charming & entertaining a lot.
Maternal: Unemployed alcoholic during the depression:
The charming, entertaining type who would use his wit & storytelling skills to get folks to buy him drinks after his money ran out, then would stagger home and terrorize his family, screaming at his wife & beating up my mom's 3 younger brothers.
Paternal: Unemployed alcoholic during the depression:
The quiet, brooding type who set relatively attainable rules and everything was fine if they were met. Basically he just wanted to be left alone with his hooch.
