Going into the one in central Bristol to find the Post Office at the back just before Christmas was an interesting contrast of late capitalism in the former followed by decline of the state in the latter
It is honourable for the defeater of Pitcher Plant to go on to greater victory.

Norgad was kind enough to credit one of my blogposts as inspiration for this, and as it happens you can vote for it in The Bloggies (link below)

The Bloggies' page has updates!
1. "We Read the Bloggies" A fan-made podcast is live and linked!
2. A new submission has been nominated, "Book [Verb] Play" in Theory. The other post was removed on the author's request.
3. I've redesigned the page to keep things short and sweet.
Happy reading!
The Bloggies Nominees are here!
We are 1 week away from voting, so I need everyone's help spreading the word. Congrats to all the nominees and blogs submittedβthis last year was incredible. Forming the lists was equal parts rewarding and painful.

Sadly you just missed out on appearing in the Mail over the weekend
With respect to my adventures, Fistful of Feathers has the light tone and clear objective, but it's a pointcrawl without a dungeon.

As much as I want to suggest my own stuff for Cairn, I think you want Tannic by @weirdwonder.bsky.social
The 3hr requirement is tough, and rules out Sharky and Black Wyrm as being too long.

Brackish is very good, and my players really embraced sketching their camera shots, to the point that I included their sheet in my review:

40+ participants of Indonesia's LFGcon SESSION 1!
Brochure that the organizers made as a gift for the participants!

Yesterday the local Indonesian Tabletop RPG community that my friends and I have been growing since Q4 2025 held its first convention!
Call of Cthulhu, Nobilis, DURF, Mothership, Daggerheart, D&D 5e. 40+ participants.
Hopefully this will inspire the local scene to keep on growing!
It is unfair of the media to report on my work in progress hexcrawl in such a negative way
Yeah I think it's a good fit, I'm just surprised I can't think of much in the way of mechanised "Bards telling tall tales" or "near future cyberpunk dystopian mass media"
Brackish is v good, I wrote a review: pointlessmonument.blot.im/i-ran-bracki...
There's also Brackish for Mothership, which has the PCs needing to document evidence with a special (slow, tamper-proof) digital camera to fulfil their contract. It's a lot of fun - there's even a special handout to fill in with doodles of the photos you take.

Itβs the penultimate Critique Navidad, and we have a winning micro-module: The Knight Errant! idlecartulary.com/2025/12/30/c...
If I was the sort of person to seek online attention, I would write about this topic under a headline like "This is the *real* Matt Mercer effect" or similar.
But I do think a default assumption of long, epic campaigns can both intimidate and cause people to reject shortform systems
After 3 weeks this has just hit 1000 downloads. Why not join in the shared curiosity about the bucket on the head?

As many have pointed out, the use of Seth Rogen as a voice actor only highlights how this looks like a film his character would need to sell/fix/bury in The Studio
The point being, there's no need to talk down 5e... and no need to promote it either.
Other than using the words Dungeons & Dragons prominently on your adverts to get through the door.
It's not false advertising - both *will* appear, probably at the same table!
Indeed. When I set up my local meetup I ran a bunch of indie systems and assumed 5e tables would fill the schedule gaps. And they did.
I sometimes get told "oh we're looking for a D&D/Pathfinder game" to which I say "well someone might run one soon, but in the meantime I'm running this one shot"
