Look what came in today! On top of last year's Bram Stoker, Elgin, and Dwarf Stars Award, I also placed 2nd for the Rhysling Award for my poem "A Black Hole is a Melting Pot That Will Make Us Whole." Now to find a frame. Much love to everyone who has supported me!
Happy release day to my second novel, The Swallowed Townβ¦

All right. So Iβm back on this BlueSky thingy because X is chock-full of bots, and I just canβt stand it. How do I use this? Do I just say stuff? Howβs the algorithm?
[Potentially] perfect for fans of:
-H.P. Lovecraft
-Thomas Ligotti
-Clark Ashton Smith
-Algernon Blackwood
-Robert Aickman
-William Hope Hodgson

Itβs also really short.

Author spotlight: Brian Evenson
Brian Evenson is easily one of the greatest writers of prose in modern horror (and sci-fi).
Have you read Evenson?
If so, whatβs your favorite work by him?
Yes yes yes yes. They were born to adapt Control to film.
My sci-fi cosmic horror novelette's out now! Follow the Iink beIow!
"Black Mirror meets Blade Runner, INEVITABILITY throws you into a world where memories can be modified, reality is unreliable, and discovering the truth is more dangerous than finding it."
Voting applicable only to Books of Horror members (on Facebook). If youβre not a member, and youβre a fan of horror, you should definitely join the group. Itβs a great way to find horror novels and indie authors who are making a splash.
The Brawl is a big deal because it gives power to the reader.
Does any other writer out there get anxious because you donβt know if you should write a new story or start editing a previous story?
Thatβs my current dilemma. I feel guilty not writing new material, but I simultaneously feel guilty neglecting a previous story.
Thatβs probably a me problem.
Great blurb from @ivygrimes.bsky.social.
The Swallowed Town is expected to be released at the end of the year by @nwreader.bsky.social, and I can't wait for everyone to delve down this strange, dark rabbit hole.
Look what came in the mail.
Haunted Ecologies by @coreyfarrenkopf.bsky.social.
Twin Peaks, The Leftovers, Severenceβ¦
Why are these the ONLY high-quality weird TV shows I can think of?
I think βPetey.β It showcased a very patient kind of storytelling, that without that slow-burn approach, the ending wouldnβt have worked as well as it did.
Dark Gods by T.E.D. Klein (which I mentioned on the podcast that my family bought for me for my birthday). It was incredible.

Boo.
Iβll check it out. I wonder if itβs on the PlayStation store.
lol. And nice. I love all three of those games, tooβexcept I never beat Soma or MoM. I have a weird habit of whenever I start liking a gameβor at least getting writing inspirationβI stop playing it because Iβm afraid the game will drop the ball and I wonβt like it anymore.
What are your top 5 cosmic horror books, films, video games, and/or TV shows?
(Iβm pretty sure Iβve read, watched, and played everything there is [i.e., of high quality], but Iβm always looking for things Iβve missed.)
A well-written but underwhelming collection of character-centric fiction. While there was some True Detective DNA in the drama and some dialogue, I am a bit perplexed that the stories within this collection are devoid of anything resembling the genre Pizzolatto is known for in TV.
