I was trying to be charitable in this conversation but you've gone from justifying Trump's actions to justifying a Nazi's action. Initially I thought the person you were arguing with was exaggerating. But now I see they are not.
Our entire Parliament gave standing applause a Nazi not that long ago. It's naive to think that American white nationalism has stayed in America.
Calling the regime illegitimate at this point serves no purpose other than justification for Trump's actions.
But I think we can all agree that this is a very weak statement from Canada. Maybe Canadian leaders want capitulate to Trump right now.
This was super informative! I will offer the criticism that he himself addresses at the end; that he should present solutions as well. Progressive organizations should reach out and coordinate with him to outline their solutions. Otherwise, his audience might go down the right-wing pipeline.

I think the right wing landscape is different now. You don't need to have a thin layer of respectability anymore. As long as you're loyal to Trump, you'll be promoted to the highest positions. I can see all the support going to Cuomo gets transferred to Sliwa after Cuomo loses
I dunno, it always seems like right wing crackpots have no power and then they end up as vice president or something. Sliwa is a lesser entity right now because the big money is backing Cuomo already.
This part really shows how little men care about eachother in these spaces. Exploitation, violence and substance abuse is all there is.

ACA is a great example because moderate Democrats were strictly opposed to the left-populist aspects of it because they were aligned with insurance companies. Now it's clear that health insurers are not popular with anyone.
Its a real dangerous gamble to run a centrist.
A centrist politician can win an election. But thats not the measure of success.
Without progressive policy that shows people that the Dems can improve their living conditions, we're going to be back here again. It's just not viable to run centrist politicians anymore.
My thinking is that the Kamala campaign had a tailwind. And if she adopted policies similar to Zohran, Walz's charisma would have been enough for a win.
I think her embracing centrist or even right wing policies caused her to lose. Boring people win elections all the time.
This truely come off as trying to salvage failing centrist politics in the face of what is being proven as much more effective - progressive politics.
Zohran is effective because he's unashamedly progressive. That is where the Kamala campaign failed.
He's assuming that Harris had the right message but wasn't charismatic enough. This is simply not true. She had the wrong message AND wasn't charismatic enough.
Why do we need a charismatic centrist when left populists are doing so much better.
The Dems would have won if they took the criticism seriously. But they chose to lose by running a republican-lite campaign.
Also, you're the dummy if you think Taylor Swift couldn't make the Dems win but Chappell Roan could have. Makes no sense.
We don't have to wonder what Biden/Harris would have done. They were in power when the genocide was ongoing. They did nothing.
