Thank you so much for giving it a try! I hope you like it. π₯Ή β₯οΈ
The new episode is out! Link in profile.
Godard wants to alienate you and deal with his breakup with Anna Karina (that's her eye), Amazing academics Roger Luckhurst and Douglas Morray will tell you all about it. I will agree in an enthusiastic manner. Who would miss such shenanigans?Β
#scifi #film
Alphaville (1965) is aΒ visually stark and confusing science fiction movie that intends to alienate you whilst providing director Jean-Luc Godard a vehicle to mourn the loss of his relationship with the stunning Anna Karina (who stars in the film).
Podcast episode out on Sunday.Β

And now I'm totally ready for the #BAFTAs tomorrow!
(We won't speak of those two/three films that are hiding from me.)

*I cannot guarantee the veracity of these claims despite championing DavidMcDavidFace as the most exciting podcast critic of our age. π
Thank you! π₯Ήπ€ I must now try to make you the most lauded podcast critic and world domination is guaranteed!
How is this not the first response, you heathens?
Itβs very pre-code. I found it engaging. I can believe it would have been banned. I canβt remember though. ππΆβπ«οΈ
I saw this in the cinema! π And the reason I skipped Island of Lost Souls is I wanted to do a double whammy with this. I think I prefer the older one although this one is so weirdly wonderful if you put aside a bunch of things. π
One of my new favorite podcasts is Every Single Sci-Fi Film Ever. Itβs a wonderfully different show, taking a more academic (but still fun) look at this great genre of storytelling.
Itβs also not limited to Hollywood films, which is especially cool. Itβs helped me broaden my horizons.
This string of posts resonates with my soul. π I am now a follower.
Oh my, Rob! What could possibly have inspired you to write such a lovely post! πΆβπ«οΈ.
(Thaaaaank yoooooou! π)
Rob! You disabled comments on a βdislike for the unlikeβ post but a little share of where you heard it would be greatly appreciated! π₯Ήπ

My first doctor where I wasnβt scared π
I cling to that hour for dear life. π₯Ί Sorry you have it too.
Elysia! I had mistaken you for younger. Perhaps you have an ageing portrait in an attic. π
Is he a replicant? Does it matter? π€
I always listen to DavidMcDavidFace and my life is better for it. You should try it too! π
Thank you! Dr Who is in the bag and needs an edit. π€
I forgive everything because you suggested I had something in common with a member of Starfleet. π€£
Donβt make me fight you, Elysia! Iβm approaching 50. This is elder abuse! π
Itβs the time again - the magnificent Ayesha was kind enough to have me back on her utterly fantastic Every Single Sci-Fi Film Ever podcast, this time talking moon monsters, steampunk Britain and First Men in the Moon. Such a fun episode and the podcast is always worth your time - check it out! π πΎ
What?! Donβt become like me. That would be disastrous. π
