It's never too late to do the right thing. It appears the NCAA might have shifted gears on letting a college tennis player accept tournament money. frontofficesports.com/columbia-ten...
They also don't know what they're doing. Just pushing a bunch of random buttons.
I was taking an online AI content training last week. The instructor (college professor from my alma mater) suggested that when you're nice to the platform, it will flatter you, so more thoroughly check what it spits out.
Like he knows anything more about college sports than he does international policy.
I thought about that for the markets that played it nauseatingly.
This is not the best part of the firing, but it’s in the Top 10.
I asked because in PR, we tell clients that if they publicize themselves, social included, they could be considered to be in the public eye. Regular citizens, including NIL athletes, could well get better public traction from their own sites or on social media, which in turn attracts legacy media.
Thanks for elaborating, Michael.

Results of this meeting are going to be 1) bonkers; 2) meh; 3) nothingburger ?
“Sure, I know all about torture! I had to watch Wisconsin play offense!!!”
Understood -- only if that athlete puts themselves out in ... public, correct?
Biden: "Jesse kept hope alive for us, and we've gotta continue to do it in our lifetime for our children. Because there's nothing beyond our capacity when we work together. So stand up! And finish this job."
Interesting paper for a few reasons. One that stands out to me (besides the obvious call for media to get it right vs. fast) is many see people who've published video, photos, etc., on social media under their name as a public figure. Are you saying in the paper that's not so when NIL's involved?
Excited to share a law review article draft, "The Gist of It: The Uneasy Triangle of Sports Journalism, Deadlines & Defamation Law", which is coauthored by Samantha Chavez-Salina and will be published in the Harvard Journal of Sports & Entertainment Law.

Third-ranked Michigan and Iowa 🏀 tied at 66 with less than a minute left in regulation. #ThisIsMarch
Banger on Peacock now, too. 9:29 to play in regulation. #Michgan@Iowa 🏀
I continue to be gobsmacked at 1) how common this formulation is 2) how antisemitic and generally bigoted it is 3) and how for all the talk of anti-semitism this is never cited as an example even though it’s quite literally the original incarnation.
Shoot, I often do that with my weekly newsletter.
"We, the athletes, fill the stadiums. We drive the television deals. We power this industry that brings in more revenue than the NBA and MLB annually. What we do in our respective sports helps fuel economies and creates the wages for thousands of employees ..."

Colin Jost and SNL writers are loving this -- as much as you can love batsh** rule in your own country.
I do want to make sure we're being clear about this:
The Bluesky team maintains the same review, red-teaming, and QA processes that we always have. AI coding tools have been proving useful, but haven't changed the fundamental practices of good engineering. Human review and direction remain key.

An NFL Mount Rushmore figure.
Former Packers team president Bob Harlan has passed away at age 89.
He hired Ron Wolf, who went on to hire Mike Holmgren and trade for Brett Favre. The Packers aren't where they are today — figuratively and literally — without Harlan.
This is sad. May all GMs learn to do it the Harlan Way.
Who could have seen this coming -- except everyone in marketing/publicity/advertising? news.designrush.com/mr-clean-unr...
This is one of the curlers on the USA Paralympic curling team and I told him today that he should post about his Paralympic experience on BlueSky because people on BlueSky get very excited whenever anybody doing anything cool in the world posts through it on BlueSky instead of other websites
So the NHL has hired someone to monitor that?
