In Ha-Nahn mages take on many roles. They can be teachers and couriers spreading information from the cities to outlying regions and bringing back news folks in the urban centers would otherwise not hear. They are advisors, guides and mediators to local leaders and high government officials alike; as well as doctors and entertainers caring for the physical and emotional health of people across the continent.  And all mages, in one way or another, are tied through their magic to the Giver and thus the realm of spirits. To call them priests would be erroneous. Rather they are intermediaries or conduits. They are links between the world of the material and whatever lies beyond. When matters in the material world arise mages will collaborate with others. But when matters of spirit come to light, mages stand alone. 

In #Ha-Nahn, mages take many roles and the work they do varies based on specialization and interest.

But few mages face tasks as difficult and necessary as those who work with spirits.

Both the calm and the vengeful.
