I was 17 yo when I found out I had an older sister who was adopted to another family. I’m grateful that atp, we’ve been in touch longer than we’ve been apart. She shares part of her incredible life story here: youtu.be/njjW3UvlYps?...
While in Charleston, I met Marcus, community activist + tour guide. I loved the intersections of his work. He’s studied the history of his community to share it and is committed to advancing it as well. Super honored to share my first for Scalawag Magazine: scalawagmagazine.org/2025/03/marc...
There is no hiding my love for thieboudienne, and I'm tickled to share how I ate it for every meal on my trip to Dakar. This is exciting— my first for Silversea! discover.silversea.com/destinations...
Traveling parents! For a national story, I’m looking for someone with 2+ kids to share anecdotes from their trips and give strategies on how they make it work. (I love my fellow travel writers/content creators, but I’d prefer someone who doesn’t work in the industry.)
Looking for a foodie who lives in Sandy Springs, GA. I want to interview you for a story! Bonus points if you’ve lived there for a while.

My family just returned to the place where my husband and I went on our babymoon (Charleston, SC)
When I was in TV ages ago, there were local, independent companies that could send a copy of any broadcast program for a fee. TV t stations also archive their news programs, but you’d have to convince someone to hand it over
The Food Section's 2024 Annual Report is live! Main takeaway: I could have stayed on Substack as long as that platform lasts, writing for 650 people and earning $45K a year. Instead, I built a media organization with its own site, daily newsletters, nine correspondents, and events across the South.
The panic of a looming deadline works wonders 😭
Here’s to the wild ride 2025 has in store! Here's a photo of me on a Multi Axis Trainer at Space Camp, it encapsulates what I expect from the new year.
🌎for 2025, I want to write more sustainability stories after learning from Cornell’s Sustainable Destination Management program.
🌎I plan to write stories that inspire travelers to pursue niche interests & take kids on big adventures. All while supporting local and indigenous communities.
📝I wrote about personal experiences, including when I showed up to a family reunion not knowing any of my relatives, and taking my parents to San Miguel de Allende.
And I have a few more stories that I’ve finished writing. Hopefully they’ll publish before the end of the year! 🤞🏽
📝My stories were syndicated in MSN, Yahoo, AOL and USA Today. Also into local outlets such as the Miami Herald, the Sacramento Bee, & WXIA in Atlanta.
📝I wrote two magazine articles, first, an ancestry travel story for Southern Living and the second, a gem of a restaurant for The Local Palate.
