I saw this game presented in Amsterdam last month and had the chance to chat with the creator a bit. I was intrigued by the concept of sanctuaries not only as places of safety and peace but also where one processes past traumas and oppression.

In Devil's Accountant you use your bookkeeping prowess to convert a series of powerful exalted figures into sinners and move up the ranks of hell with the hope of one day escaping the underworld.
The main game loop was always fun but lacked depth once you played for more than 5 minutes. Now with additional game loops it feels good to try to reach to the end and the repetition becomes interesting.
Today was the first time I played the game I’m making and I had fun. It’s a good feeling seeing all the systems come together after all this work and a sense of fun and accomplishment emerging through play.
