A woman wearing a neon yellow beanie. A gas mask respirator around their face. A metal broiling pan with pink electrical tape that says ICE Out
@statuscoupnews.bsky.social interviewing this woman in Minneapolis right now who said she came out of her home, wearing whatever she could grab to protect herself from ICE agents. You do what you can, with what you got.
ICE is acting like a hostile invading force, and should be seen, treated, and talked about as such.
#AbolishICE is the bare minimum. Abolish and prosecute them like a hostile invading militia.
Minneapolis is under occupation.
People really do not understand how out of control Minneapolis is right now. I spent almost 8 hours today on the street in different parts of the city and saw everything from tear gas and pepper balls being used to fully marked ice vehicles roaming and pointing out people to camera crews onboard.
This poll shows that 74% of Democrats support abolishing ICE, with 53% *strongly* supporting getting rid of the agency.
Any elected Democrat who wants ICE to exist is outside the mainstream of their party and the people they purport to represent.
Someone mentioned one TT the movie “A Taxi Driver”(2017-Korean film). It’s based on real events and it parallels what we have going on here in the US right not. Highly recommend!
I added captions to this video of people heckling Greg Bovino leaving a Target in Minneapolis, and there's so many people yelling things at him it's like a comedy skit
“It is increasingly indefensible for news coverage of climate change not to make it clear that this crisis is driven by very specific human activities – primarily burning fossil fuels. And in second place is food, agriculture, forestry.”

Straight from a Chaplin film from 1918.
We often think of the courage of the Tank Man and how the long row of tanks stopped for him, but some of the graphic photos from Tiananmen Square show protesters who were run over by tanks and their mangled bodies and bicycles.
Watch this and wait for it:
San Diego's enormous corpse flower looking like aN upside down ballerina.
Maybe it's called a corpse flower because that's a dead ballerina stuffed in a bucket.

Happening now: it's 1°F outside in Chicago—a literal frozen hellscape.
Furious EPA workers with AFGE Local 704 are rallying against the Trump/Musk evisceration of the federal workforce targeting new hires. Recently fired employees include those responsible for monitoring air & water quality.
Note this is unfortunately routine practice already--its called the foster care system. We remove more children from their families than any country on earth and 90% of them are victims of poverty, not abuse or violence. What Kennedy is calling for is the expansion of a system that already exists.
Okay, but WHY are no dems running up there to STOP them? A lot of boohoo and zero action by the dems. 🫠
Of the 50 hardest-hit schools on this list, 32% are in states that voted for Trump. Losses range from $36.2 to $129.7M—per school.
We can organize around that. Electeds, even Republicans, don’t want mass layoffs in their districts.
(NB: If you reply by celebrating people’s pain, I’ll block you.)
Translation: undergraduate students who had COVID have a high rate of cognitive dysfunction-up to 37%.
Blood flow is altered in the prefrontal cortex.
COVID is bad for your brain.
Don’t get covid.
Get vaccinated.
Wear an N95 respirator in indoor public spaces.
Advocate for clean air.
I'm saying Go Birds because there's a chance their victory riot turns into a general strike
More of this, America.
Hospitals that can afford Super Bowl ads shouldn’t be sending their patients to collections
A common theme of these Super Bowl ads has been “unity” and “easing divisions”, which I guess sounds nice and is what I suppose corporations are hoping for, but no. They’re attacking trans kids, demonizing immigrants, banning books, tearing up the constitution… it’s not time to “come together”
Time for every 40-something conservative commentator dude to out themselves as the biggest squares on the planet lmao
Sorry America but after Jan 31 no industrial size Kirkland Signature for you if the workers don't get their due
nominally “liberal” mainstream media is now running cover for an out and about fascist. these are dark times we are living in and we truly cannot rely on these fascist sympathizers anymore
people keep tagging me in fuck around and find out content like I haven’t been talking about how pandemics lead to fascism since 2020.
The “find out” portion isn’t just for everyone who doesn’t consider themself a liberal—it’s for them too.
Haven’t masked in 4 years? FAAFO.
Look, we tried to warn people. At this point, the only way out is through. Trump will precipitate a collapse and only then can we rebuild towards a better future. Our goal is to minimize the number of people we lose along the way. Build community, help others. Resilience is all we have.
#Trump: “What is this one?”
Aide: “Withdrawing from the World Health Organization” #ExecutiveOrder
Trump: “Oh. That’s a big one!”
As #H5N1 is on the precipice if not already circulating among citizens.
