This has really bummed me out and put me in a bit of a funk. Other then my trees curating these feeds gave me something positive I could do even in my rough days, definitely feels like there’s a big hole now.
Guess it’s a push to find something else, yet that in itself is a struggle 😞

It has been wonderful seeing all of your bonsai posts and keeping the feeds going for you all.
Sad to think that after all these many hours that is has come to this, yet what can we do?

The part of the tree which is still standing. It’s completely hollow from the bottom to the top. A yellow diamond shaped hiking trail sign is attached to it.

There are holes at the bottom making way to the inside.

Halfway up, just about the hiking trail sign, there’s another opening.

At the top, decay has already done huge damage.

An old tree, the lower part still standing. But it has also been carved out from the inside, probably by ants or other small forest life forms.
