HB 3187 (the Texas House bill to cut DART) died last night! Time ran out to schedule it for a vote on the House floor. Huge victory for @ridewithdata.org! The gameβs not over yet, because SB 1557 (that does the same thing) is still floating out there, but the HB dying is major progress.
May is Bike Month! Get involved at any of these events:
- May 16: Bike to Work Day at Akard Station
- May 17: Dallas Bike Ride (20 mile car free social ride) Use code TEAMDBC for early bird prices!
- May 28: Pack City Hall for the Bike Plan Vote π³οΈ

Dallas has the lowest voter turnout of any major US city. This is why we continue to see a Dallas with slow change.

This year, Dallas was named a Bronze level Bicycle Friendly Community! But what does that mean & how do we improve? Join the Dept. of Transportation & Public Works in partnership with the Bike League for a 1.5 day workshop on April 23-24 to discuss opportunities to make cycling safer in our city.
Have questions about the bike plan or need help to submit a comment? Drop in to DBC's bike plan office hours Thursday, March 27 any time between 6-8pm and a volunteer will help!

Leave a comment on the bike plan at dallasbikeplan2025.org! Join DBC in sending a clear message to our city's leadership- we need more funding and we need to build a basic bike network faster than 20 years. Dallas roads are dangerous, and
this is a solution.
So what can you do? First and foremost, email your council member and follow us on social media to stay up to date!

Today weβre announcing our 2025 advocacy goals to the public!
Pass the Bike Plan π Build the Bike Plan π Make it safe
We need more funding and we have to build faster. Dallas roads are dangerous and this is a solution π
Community advocacy is necessary to be sure Dallas not only passes the forthcoming Dallas Bike Plan but also to be sure the city implements the projects citywide. Dallas had a great plan in 2011, but very little of it was built.
