Either you thrive on your rookie contract or you fail long enough to become a backup in a good system and become an attractive reclamation project. The vast majority of current NFL starters has to come from one of those two columns.
Dean's biggest issue has always been his durability. Pec injury hurt his draft stock, then had multiple injuries in 2023. Then plays great in 2024 but tears his patellar tendon in the playoffs and doesn't come back until midseason 2025. One of the best blitzing off-ball LBs in the league.
