Thanks — some pretty amazing stuff I hadn’t seen before.

Evidently the left hasn’t lost its knack for shooting itself in the foot.
😢 Yeah, exactly the same for me.
He really was a wonderful entertainer — a one-of-a-kind natural. I got to see a few of his live shows at the Bottom Line and the Cutting Room. Funny, fun, goofy … and joyful! He’ll be missed, and fondly remembered.
Saw it at IFC last year. Definitely a masterpiece. Without a doubt, John Woo belongs in the Pantheon of the world’s greatest filmmakers.
Man, it’s been ages since I’ve thought of that song. Never considered the lyrics as worthy of reflection, but that’s a nice little passage.
Anyone else getting an S. Clay Wilson vibe from this one?
For me it’s one:
😖
His gifts as a communicator are truly astonishing. Too soon to tell whether he has what it takes to lead a movement. I’m rooting for him — and for AOC & Jasmine Crockett, and their gutsy, energizing allies. The forces of darkness are arrayed against them, but they’ve got talent & gumption.
Totally understandable these days.
Saw that series when it was playing in New York a couple of months ago — an amazing collection of films.
Thanks. He’s amazing. Picking my own jaw off the floor right now. Hadn’t seen that one either.
😆🩷
Totally agree about the Turtles being under-appreciated.
😢
Really sad news. He was a wonderful entertainer. That string of shows the did at the Bottom Line around New Years were such joyful experiences — amazing musicians, laughs and great tunes.
A neglected gem! ❤️
Don’t hold your breath waiting for New York mayor Eric Adams to step up like this.

I agree with you on this one. Ninotchka and To Be or Not to Be are very close runners up. Not easy to pick a best for Lubitsch — he’s always brilliant.
😂
Who knew those Feds were such snowflakes. Assault with a deadly tuna melt!
Might give it another look. But basically, starting with 2001, nothing by Kubrick really grabs me.
😢
Strangelove is my second favorite of his; I like it more every time I see it. 2001 & Barry Lyndon I find tedious slogs. Clockwork Orange is livelier, but I saw it a few years ago, and it doesn’t seem to me to be anything special.
I’ve always thought it was his best movie.
😂
Good lord! I’m totally fucked!
