For singles formats your mostly right, but some strategies like toxic stall require you to stall for time. In doubles formats however, you can have one pokemon protect whilst the other does something to still make progress

Not a helpful answer, but I’ll likely enjoy whichever one the developers have put more work into.
If the game is a run and gun, stealthily trying to pick them off is gonna be hard and frustrating.
If it’s a stealth game, running through and triggering alarms, will only result in failure
