Cat update: Pippa doesn't miaow for food, but she does hve a tiny, squeaky miaow she uses when she wants a fuss from me.
On Monday 9th March, we're hosting two early preview livestreams of the Full of Fusion update!
Tune in to Shurkou or @nathanstanz.bsky.social for debut gameplay of the new Alchemist class and MONSTER FUSION!
Went to see a band at a workers' co-op venue and had a good time, and one of my new cats shared the sofa with me.
It's been a while since I've picked up my hobby of art. Life sure has a way of throwing unexpected things at you, doesn't it?

Calling genAI an "answer machine" domesticates & familiarises it, so that this article (despite headline) is really a shill for the usefulness of commercial genAI "done right" (as it is for corn syrup), which is like arguing about which genAI is better served to be licensed to bomb people โ wrong.
Also, I'm old enough to remember what an answer(ing) machine was/is: it's a device that records messages when you're not available. A key plot point in many 80s/90s detective stories is that those messages are only for intended recipient & *can be erased* โ the right to privacy & to be forgotten.
Oh, and it's not just that genAI is being inserted into what we "consume," which makes it sound like a choice question, or our fault for consuming.
It's in policing, surveillance, govt websites, data scraping, and work tools we're subject/ed to with NO OPTION for consent.
So much of what is happening with genAI is b/c the mainstream media is already slop, full of poorly-worded, poorly-argued articles assigned on the basis of follower count & edited to scare as few horses as possible. Passive voice, lazy metaphors, no theory of history, cheerleading for capital.
1) high-fructose corn syrup is not useful, it's a profit-driven substance that has wrecked our bodies (asymmetrically)
2) humans are not "question machines", or indeed machines
3) genAI is not an "answer machine", it's a Magic 8-ball frequency algorithm
Framing matters. Language matters.

Luuuuuuuuuunaaaaaa ๐
Few local creatures stop me in my tracks like this, just the sheer size and soft colors and markings. Like, welp, day instantly better.
I got gravel up there when I was a small child because I wanted to know what it smelled like.
I think that my cats' pronouns are "mrrp/mrr" and that might also be their proper nouns too, based on the noises they make at each other.
I was cheating by buying paper litter.
I am also envious of your long arms.
This needs to track back further through corporate brands (and institutions!) using first person pronouns & uwu-speak. An LLM is just a product, using well-established marketing personalisation techniques, which should be pointed out & deprogrammed passim.
A collection of instruction booklets, Strategy Guides, and other books to archive them for future reference.

60L of cat litter is completely manageable weight-wise but, uh, it's hard to embrace.
A fun aspect of height dysphoria is that I have a fairly minimal idea of how tall I actually am, and therefore how dimensionally big I am and thus how long my arms are.
Anyway this is why I am currently halfway through the process of carrying 60L of cat litter home across a park.
GOING UP 01 Small Prophets (BBC) My bf Mackenzie Crook does gentle folk comedy like nobody else. 02 Magnolia trees The candelabras of spring are lit, as they have been since the beginning of time. NB! their petals are edible and taste of ginger. 03 Rosalia ft Bjรถrk at the Brits New rule: all songs must have a breakdown where Bjรถrk suddenly appears like a final boss. 04 Sunlight One (1) slice of sunlight hit my skin and I became immediately manic!!!!! 05 Hannah Spencer I just think sheโs cool like Iโd like to get a matcha with her and learn about different types of washers and gaskets??
STEP OUT INTO THE SPRING LIGHT AND EAT A MAGNOLIA FLOWER DIRECTLY OFFOF THE TREE
No, it's not. I hope you can find a better situation.
A tiny black cat looks round the corner at the foot of some stairs and gives the viewer magnificent side-eye.
Judgement! At the foot of the stairs.

Todays creature(s) are living sock puppets ๐งฆ They are alive and happy and never doomscroll about current world events
A little tired of these major historical events
Obvious ai manipulation on the left. Original photo by David Batcheller on the right. Look at the wings, feather shape, head, neck and bill shape, lack of tail etc. This is way more than a filter and absolutely destroys the joy and wonder of the original.
So loads of people are sharing an obvious ai "glow up" of an actual photo. I never share ai stuff even to dunk, but in this case I'm sharing a comparison to show the problem. We have to stand against this slop at every level or it becomes normalised. They want us to stop caring. See alt text.
I love that when you tried to explain his theories to me, I just went "Hang on, that's Dumรฉzil's tripartite theory bollocks."
But with bits of Marx, messianic thought, unironic Great Man stuff, and that "You can only pick two" meme.
Fun fact: during the eight years I lived in Cambridge, a return train journey to London went from ยฃ8 if I was smart/lucky to almost ยฃ30.
*low on
I don't think I know a public library worker who hasn't got regular abuse and intimidation (my coworker and I got stuff thrown at us today) and we're pretty damn low of the pay scales of every local authority, if we're even getting paid at all since some places now have volunteers rather than staff.
My coworker and I got stuff thrown at us today, where's my hundred grand?
