Chloe used to get a little agitated when there were sounds in the hallway. One day, every time she heard something, I would open the door to let her see what was going on. Then, after a while, I would tell her, remember, it’s vacuum day, or it’s just a neighbor. Soon, she stopped reacting.

Have you tried white noise in the house? Just something to distract him throughout the day, but not too loud to disturb you?

Does having access to a window to see what’s making the noise make a difference?

Do you notice a pattern of when he does it?

If it is a certain time of day, maybe create a distraction around that time?

Or maybe he’s still trying to get used to the new sounds.
