@rachelburden.bsky.social I just thought I would share this photo I took last week up in the Shetland Islands. The Gannets nests are made almost exclusively of plastic. And if you look you will see one of them is caught up and hanging dead from the nest.
So sad π
Summer plumaged Grey Phalarope found by Phil yesterday morning. I got to see it in late evening light last night around 9pm! So glad I did! Look at those feet! #shetland #springbirding #greyphalarope
Eye-browed Thrush - Yell. Wasnβt expecting this belter of a thrush on my way to change over our self catering Solan House on Unst today. Found earlier by Christian Melgar and found out in the open for us with minutes to spare by Adrian Kettle. Only our second for Shetland after Philβs bird in 2020.
A break in the weather today, we have 5 full tours in much improved conditions! Many of our June dates are fully booked already. Fancy a seabird spectacular boat tour to Noss with our very own resident Shetland naturalist and skipper Phil!? Get in touch today or check out our availability online!
