Ian Fraser complained to the Independent Press Standards Organisation that Telegraph.co.uk breached Clause 1 (Accuracy) of the Editorsβ Code of Practice in an article headlined βWe earn Β£345k, but soa...
This IPSO adjudication against the Telegraph is quite something
Confirms their story titled: βWe earn Β£345k, but soaring private school fees mean we canβt go on five holidaysβ was completely fabricated, with the family involved non-existent and stock pictures used

Abingdon's Radley Road neighbours angry at parking ban to speed up buses
The restrictions to parking have been made to help speed up bus journeys along the road.
I love the way expensive new roads are celebrated, even if in business case terms, they only shave a few seconds of journeys.
But when it is a modest scheme to help to get buses moving, that same argument is deployed against.
Sorry Bub, it's not your road outside.

A single-panel cartoon in Private Eye.
Onto a photo of plumber and Green MP Hannah Spencer giving her election victory speech, with Reform's Matt Goodwin in the background, a speech balloon has been added, so that Hannah is saying: "I've stopped the cock."
Bravo, Private Eye, bravo.

Parties and politicians being scrutinised by the press is a vital aspect of our representative democracy: journalists help us to see past what politicians and parties say and claim, enabling us to get a clearer view of what they value, what they stand for.
Maybe that's what Reform are afraid of.

Revealed: The Staggering Amount of Time Nigel Farage has Spent on βSecondβ Jobs Since Becoming an MP
The Reform UK leader has logged more than 1,100 hours for 14 outside employers since his election in July 2024
Since getting elected, Farage has spent 140 working days on projects for 14 outside employers - more than 1,100 hours - clearly prioritising them over speaking in parliament, which he has only done 43 times.
Working hard for the residents of Clacton? Not so much.

The growing threat of domestic wood burning stovesβand industryβs legal attempts to shut down clean air campaigns
As public health officials warn about rising emissions from urban wood burning, a BMJ investigation finds that just under a third of councils in high use areas have faced pressure from the stove indus...
Industry should not be trying to stop councils from communicating the facts.
The health effects of burning are widely known.
Modern stoves are not the answer: some emit MORE tiny particles of soot, carbon and cancer-causing chemicals than older stoves.
Non-essential burning has to stop.

Lobbyists send legal threats to councils over anti-wood burner campaigns
At least eight councils receive legal threats alleging flyers criticising wood burners are in breach of advertising codes
In a move with strong echoes of the tobacco playbook, lobbyists for the UK wood-burning stove industry have threatened councils with legal action over public information campaigns warning of the harms of air pollution.
