I never realised there were so many of these films, worth checking out?

Huge win tonight against Brighton, made even sweeter with City dropping points π΄βͺοΈ
I saw them in Southampton last night, awesome band!
A picture from last night in Southampton.
#Airbourne tore the roof off the Guildhall, supported by #Asomvel and #Avalanche
Iβve seen this band five times now, and theyβre still one of the most entertaining live acts Iβve seen.

Standing atop Tintagel Castle on a wet, windswept visit in 2019, the Gallos statue by Rubin Eynon stands proud.

A quiet morning at St Hubertβs.
Small, ancient, and wonderfully peaceful.
The kind of place where the noise of the world feels very far away.

An ancient oak in Burwood Park today, believed to date from 1500.
The whole tree is impressive.
But itβs in the old wounds that you really see the centuries.

Iβve put this on my list of places to visit. I didnβt know this was there.
This afternoonβs visit to the Old Church of St John the Baptist, Greatham, Hampshire.
Built in 1282, it served the local community for around 600 years before a new church was built across the road.
A quiet place steeped in centuries of prayer and village life.

In the quiet of St. Anneβs Chapel, Romsey Abbey, a 10th-century Saxon Rood watches over the centuries. Limestone figures capture the Crucifixion.
Christ, Mary, St John, and the Roman soldiers Longinus and Stephaton. Small, ancient, and quietly powerful, it feels like a whisper from the past.
Ely Cathedral, March 2024.
The cathedral can trace its origins back to an earlier abbey founded in 672 by St Etheldreda, this place has been dominating the Fens for well over a millennium β and it still takes your breath away.

I have this on my list of places I need to visit, itβs a very special place.

Photos taken in February 2018.
St Georgeβs Church, Trotton, West Sussex.
After passing it countless times, I finally stopped to see the remarkably well-preserved medieval wall paintings. The church is largely early 14th century, with elements dating back to around 1230.

A short walk into Bramdean Common and youβll find this hidden gem β the Church in the Woods.
Built in 1883 at the bequest of Rev Alfred Caeser Bishop, it was founded to serve the gypsies and charcoal burners who lived and worked among these trees.

Bramber Castle, West Sussex.
This motte-and-bailey castle was built by William de Braose shortly after the Norman Conquest.
The parish church was founded in 1073 as part of his residence and defences. Today, it is the only part of the castle complex still standing and remains in regular use.

A magnetometry survey of Abbotsbury Castle hillfort #Dorset has shown that there are, in the SE corner of the enclosure, a series of Iron Age roundhouse platforms with collapsed daub walls, postholes and storage pits π€©

Fantastic views over the Solent from the top of the 100ft high Norman keep.
Throwback to last year's trip to Portchester Castle! π°
Built to defend the south-east coast, itβs one of the best-preserved Roman forts in Northern Europe. Amazing to see those ancient walls still standing.

Iβve visited Abbotsbury many times and didnβt realise this was there.
Great photo! Iβve visited Salisbury Cathedral a few times, and I have always been drawn to the military flags.
Iβm on the lookout for hidden historical gems in Hampshire, ruined chapels, forgotten manor houses, ancient yews, quiet churchyards, that sort of thing. Any recommendations?
Rising above the village of the same name, Corfe Castle is one of Englandβs most romantic ruins. Built during the reign of William the Conqueror, its story begins in the 11th century.

Visited the fashionable Donnington Castle in 2018.
Its twin-towered gatehouse was built in the 1380s for Sir Richard de Abberbury. During the Civil War, the castle endured a brutal 20-month siege, leaving it badly damaged.β

The historic church of St. Maryβs situated in Sompting, West Sussex.
St. Maryβs church, which dates back over 1000 years, is famous for its Rhenish Helm on the church tower.
This is the only example of this type of Saxon architecture in the UK.

These photos are from a visit back in 2018, @butserancientfarm.co.uk is such a fascinating place to visit. I must go back this year to take some more recent photos.
